That is a main reason for this forum, a collection of useful airgun information. Would defeat the purpose by "cleaning up" all of the old stuff.
:)
We even have a static copy of our old forum for your viewing pleasure and for references. You aren't forced to read anything. But it's there if you need/want to read it.
SAFE & Happy Shooting!!!!

Agree with DEz on this. I appreciate many years later being able to go back in time and reminisce about the good old days” of air gunning. God knows I have a hard time remembering on my own!
-
Yeah I think that we need all that old info to learn from!
-
That's wisdom in thous pages.
-
Really my man, you have 10 post and complaining about useful information, Have you ever had a old car you needed a manual on. think about it, these air guns are the same. David
-
And geez he’s not even seen the ancient scrolls called “the old GTA!”
-
Wipe out a treasure trove of information? :o He must-a woke up on the wrong side of the cliff.
-
NO! Admins please NO!
As already stated, GTA a DEEP TREASURE TROVE OF INFORMATION ON AIR GUNS OF ALL TYPES FROM ALL DATES.
If new (or seasoned) members only want to see newest posts first, they should just set their profile to view newest posts first and only go back as deep as they need.
>> go to "Profile", "Look and Layout", check little tick box that says "See most recent posts at the top"... done.
-
I'm glad that the response shows folks know the reason we are here at all. We want to be the BEST information site for anything airgun. And don't worry, as long as I'm drawing a breath, an information purge will never take place on GTA Forums.
We now return you to our regularly scheduled chaos.
:)

I have read posts back to the beginning of the "new" GTA because I have a Condor and a Marauder. There is a LOT of information that applies to my airgunning experience.
If you delete anything over a year then you become a "gun of the month club".

This is not a chat room. The archives are there for a reason. For example, I have benefited from rstern's long posts on AG science. They definitely took him time to write, and it would be a waste to require him to do it again every year or two, besides the fact that the old bookmarks and links would go dead.

He musta got the message... first and last post on the matter.

"Clean up the site?"
If that train of thought prevailed, libraries would throw out all the books printed before, say 2001?
“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
Sir Winston Churchill, re-quoting George Santayana, re-quoting Edmund Burke.
-
I actually went to the library at Alexandria Egypt, but they had already thrown out all of the books.
IIRC
All of the ancient knowledge was burned because it did not conform to the contemporary hotheads.
-
🔼 Sounds like George Orwell’s book 1984.

I don't want to read something 19 years Ago....HELP
I am still trying to figure out the 19 years Ago thing!
-
I only just joined yesterday and the driver was the fantastic reference material. As long as there is a good search engine to find what you are looking for, I don't see the age of posts being an issue. Physics hasn't changed since the big bang let alone the last 10 years. :D
-
Well said, Kon.
Welcome to the GTA Forum. Rock on!
-
What did Marx say about re-writing history? Getting rid of the old is the first step.
Or was it Lenin?
-
Karl Marx
-
OP,
I have learned a lot from many of the old posts.
The search function is also useful, but it doesn’t always look up exactly what you are looking for.
-
I found the GTA through researching history on vintage guns I was looking for. Real glad someone didn't go and "clean it up" before I found it.
