Title: Internals or R7 and Hw30s? are they the same?
Post by: Tommyzgunz on May 12, 2019, 07:23:17 AM
Does anyone know if the internals of the Beeman R7 and the Weihrach Hw30s the same?   . If all is the same and maybe just the tiniest difference in the look or texturing of the stock ,do I get the R7 or the HW30s.What do you guys think?

Anyone know of any obvious difference in maybe FPS or cocking effort? accuracy? getting ready to possibly pick one up    Share your thoughts and opinions on both please, I appreciate the help.

Exactly the same. Just different branding. They sometimes have different stocks and the R7 used to come without sights. Pick up the one you like the looks of because the guts are all the same.

You're welcome. You're making a fine choice that you'll be happy with. They are my personal favorite, I have two Hw30s. I get excited about getting other people hooked on them.  :D  Please feel free to pm or call me if you want any help with them. Krale in the Netherlands has the best deals on Weihrauchs even after 48 dollars in shipping. Their service is great and I got my rife in 2 days. I think they're currently out of Hw30s but they get restocks often.

I'll add that both these guns may feel a little overly-compact when being held if you're full-size or have long arms.  None of this will stop you from being the bane of small pests, though.  I used a .20 R7 to great effect during my stint working for an avian abatement pest control company.  Though my Blue Streak had more power, the easy of use of the R-7 meant pigeons had no chance.

If you want a little more size, the HW-50 is another amazing piece of kit.

I'm 6'3" 245 and I love both of my Hw30s. Just recently got a Hw50. Does it shoot as accurately? Definitely.
Does it fit me better? Yes
Is it as fun? Not even remotely close.
It's harder to cock than my Hw95 which makes 4lbs more power. Stock or with my new kit the 50 makes 3.5lbs more energy than my Vortek kitted Hw30s with thousands of rounds through them. That gap will like narrow a half pound as the new spring settles in. Yet it feels 10 times harder to cock. Mathematically this is not true, but when shoot them side by side, it does feel that way. The 30 you can shoot for hours on end with no fatigue. Can't say that about a standard power 50. Now a detuned 50 would be a nice rifle for sure, fit wise. Just remember the length of pull on the 30 is still longer than most adult rimfire rifles. Overall a 30 is quite a bit lighter than a 50. Some people like that, some people feel the 30 feels tail heavy in comparison. Eventually you'll probably wind up with both like me. Honestly I feel the 50 is a great gun if you were only to have one and you wanted to hunt a bit. But it really doesn't have anything over a 95. For a fun backyard gun that you'll never get rid of, get a Hw30 or R7.
Pictured is my Hw50 and my Hw30.
Just to put some perspective on this. Splitting hairs is something we're all good at here. Stay with your call. It's a good one. Very rarely wil people sell their Hw30 /R7. Even though its said to be small and under powered. Bah humbug!

thanks. a lot of people are saying it's an all day shooter, no problem. so that's good. It'll be the first springer. i'm sure I won't stop at that because there are a bunch of guns I will probably add just like everyone else here lol.

Your doing it right! I wish I had saved the money I spent on another rifle and went HW30 first.
