Title: Importing airguns
Post by: MitchW on April 25, 2019, 11:42:42 AM
Anyone know the regulations on receiving an airgun from another country. I may have the opportunity to get a Diana 48/52 from another country.

I haven't heard of any horror stories of airguns coming HERE, but it'll for sure stay in customs a while, considering the current climate and all...  Also, shipping cost with private sales is usually kinda high- Even with some companies, the shipping cost is kinda high.  I just got a relatively light package from the UK and shipping was near $16.  Not too bad, but still.  I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I have purchased 3 guns from Krale no problems delivery from Holland was only 2 days. On one purchase customs hit me with a $45 charge on a 900 purchase. The other times no duty. I’ve heard it’s a &^^& shoot.

I've purchased 5 air rifles from Krale without any problems whatsoever.  The most recent purchase was delivered yesterday.

I bought my PP700 from Krale several years ago.  Less than 48 hours after clicking the [Buy] button I was out in my back killin' squirrels with it.  The Netherlands to Richmond VA.  I cannot fathom why the mail coming from Virginia Beach takes 4 times longer than an airgun coming from The Netherlands.

We also have a lot of US members that have bought from Canada as well as Ukraine, The Czech Republic, and Spain.

Some countries seem more export/import friendly than others.

A friend in the Uk, has been trying to get me a Webley Hurricane Kit, like new in box with scope and all.

But with a Shipping and export bill of over $300 from there to here, it's not feasible.

He has thought of boxing it up, and marking the customs slip as vintage toys.

Twice i have tried to send him a crosman MK1, I made sure it was shooting well below 6fpe., both times it was sent back from British Customs.

The first time as a complete air pistol, boxed with a letter inside stating it was an antique air pistol.

The second time, disassembled, in 2 separate shipments, the stripped frame in 1 box, the barrel grips, and co2 cap in the other, and with a letter in the box stating it was a non functioning BB pistol, sold as parts, sent 2 weeks apart.

They were both returned.

Stating gun parts are not allowed to be imported.

I bought a leather holster shipped from Slovakia thru Germany to New York, arrived in one day, where it sat for the weekend.  Delivered Monday by DHL.  Shipping cost was $16...
Why would a baseball cap coming from Air Force Airguns (in Texas, USA?) that costs $18 incur a shipping cost of $17??     Needless to say I won't buy the cap.

I'll add two companies have gained a lot of good publicity here for good prices and priompt delivery:

Aceros de Hispania in Spain

Krale Schietsport in The Netherlands

I have good experiences with both now.
