Well I got my new Gauntlet 22 AR,
opened the box, picked up the manual read thru it, standard stuff etc.
Picked up the rifle, and heard something rattle around,
found the air tank loose, had to removed the fore end, tighten the bottle down,
and found the psi gage and fill nipple out of line for use.
Will have to use a PRO reg to get things to line up OK.
Give the shroud turn and it is loose, remove it and check the bbl,
1/4" play, very loose, check the 2 action screws, both are NOT even finger tight,
remove the bbl and give it a good cleaning, fairly clean, :o
Install and line up the bbl divits and screws and tighten down snugly,
line up the shroud end and tighten it down on the bbl,
install shroud and screw it down tight, install the baffles parts etc.
I got to thinking about all the other parts, stripped off the stock,
found all the screws were loose, just finger tight, including the trigger etc.
Pulled the side plate off trigger guard and adjusted the trigger pull to an OK pull/release for now,
installed stock and tighten all screws.
Just filled the bottle to 2500 psi and will let it set overnight,
will attach the scope and do some testing in the am.
I am sure hoping, I have some good results shooting,
makes me nervous finding all the screws were very loose etc.
I hope it gets better..................

Don, the tank does not need to be fully tightened. My suggestion would be to fill it off the rifle and then screw it in till the air is released into the rifle and then adjust it to where the gauge and fill nipple are aligned where you want them. In my experience, if you tighten the tank all the way into the rifle and then fill it, it's going to be a real bear to get it off again. It will seal just fine without screwing it in all the way. There is a section in the manual that talks about aligning the gauge and fill nipple, but it may not be real clear that the tank does not to be fully seated.

Thanks Paul
Well it held air all night, mounted the scope, set up the starling shooting platform,
zero'd at 40 yds, on the nose, 1800 psi in tank, (unknown what the reg set point is at this time),
will check later, and run her over the chrono, shot 50 rds to get the feel etc.
Cocking/loading in like 20 miles of a gravel road, all ROUGH, LoL.
Was sitting there thinking on what to do next and an starling landed on the roof,
centered the CH and stroked the trigger, and it does the crash landing, DNRT> dirt nap right there,
look up and a second one lands in the same spot, looking down at the one lying there,
stroked the trigger and it follows suit as the first one. ;D
Now I am tickled pink, this Gauntlet wants to shoot CM Domes,
5 shots goes into a nickle sized hole at 40 yds, I start to get up and another one lands, same spot,
stroke the trigger and #3 starling DNRT ;D.
This is really hard to believe now,
I look up and a magpie is circling and lands on the roof, same spot as all the starlings,
I repeat the same actions, and 1 magpie DNRT,
"Chance" is going crazy, as he has seen the bandits hit the ground, and wants his turn,
#5 bandit, starling lands same spot, I repeat the same actions and #5 is DNRT.
I send Chance out for his reward, and I find,
the first starling bandit is a female and the rest are males, "Love" is in the air around here,
the magpie was just curious, I guess, or it's one of the ones pecking the Cackle Berries > eggs.
I am thinking, I LIKE this Gauntlet, it's a rough and crude, but she shoots CROSMANS like a lazer.
Now I don't want to strip it down and do the whole cleanup and polish tricks etc.
The first 5 shots and 5 bandits DNRT, move over LL a new shooter has showed up...............
So I think, I'll just shoot her for a while, as we have to get to know each other, LOL
Back to the shooting bench, as I have a Blue Billion HS around........
and have a bunch of reading to catch up on after sundown............ ;D
Any thoughts or suggestions, I don't like the loose tank,
I have a Ninja Pro Reg on a 13/3000 tank, and have a 23ci/3000 tank,
I would like to use with the pro reg for this Gauntlet,
just have to find the best reg set point for the CM pellets etc.
