Title: FX Dream Classic .25
Post by: Rat Sniper (AKA: PaulT58) on April 13, 2019, 09:35:57 PM
All I can say is...  WOW!  This is my first real high-end air rifle.  Yea, I have the Evanix Air Speed, but it's more of a novelty air rifle than a really refined air rifle.

It came packaged much better than the Air Speed, and I think JSAR added their touch to the packaging!  The rifle itself was wrapped in plastic and then wrapped in bubble wrap.  There was egg crate foam all around the rifle inside the FX box and JSAR wrapped that box with correated cardboard, so it arrived very well protected!

Inside was the rifle in all it's gorgeous glory, one 16 shot magazine, a fill probe with ta foster fitting already attached (thanks for that nice little extra touch, JSAR!) and a brand new 350 count tin of JSB 25.39 pellets!

I wasn't expecting it to arrive until Monday, but it arrived at the local FedEx center last night and FedEx surprised me and delivered it earlier today.  The Chinese 5-15X50 Bestsight/BSA Scope I ordered from AliExpress arrived today also.  Jury's still out on this scope, but the rings were tall enough to mount it on the FX and clear the scope.  It didn't take long to sight it in and after filling it to 220 bar, I shot 4 full 16 shot magazine from 220 bar to 110 bar, which is where the regulator is set.  The two targets below were set at 37 yards.  The top target is a 6" target and the bottom target is 3".  These were shot from a tripod rest and the rifle is definitely more accurate than this shaky old guy!  Oh, and I haven't even cleaned the barrel yet, so it may improve some after that task is done.

Adding the DonnyFL definitely makes it backyard friendly.  I did not shoot it without the moderator, so I'm not sure how much louder it is without it, but I will do most of my shooting with it, so it'll stay on it for more.  As someone else mentioned, adding the DonnyFL definitely causes the barrel to droop some, but it still does not touch the air cylinder.  I suspect JSAR will fabricate a barrel band soon that will add some stability to the barrel and when available, one will be added!

The action is phenomenal!  This is the smoothest cocking rifle I have ever shot.  It so smooth and easy to cock, you gotta wonder if there's even a hammer spring in the thing!  Smooth as butter is probably the best description I can think of...

First impressions are very favorable and I can see how someone can really get spoiled with an air gun like this one!

Now I need that 600mm .22 barrel kit because those .25 pellets are going to get expensive!  LOL!  And I suspect this rifle is going to be used a lot!

A special shout out to Matt at JSAR for going the extra mile to get me a real winner!  The personal touch and little extras JSAR do for their customers really makes a difference!  Thanks again JSAR Crew!

Well, everyone told me the FX was a tack driver, so I put that to the test today!  Here are 2 different 8D 2½" nails I started in a 2X4.  I hung it from my target stand at 37 yards and proceeded to try and drive those tacks!  When I started both nails were hammering the board so approximately 1½ " of the nail was still sticking out of the board.

The 1st two picture were my first attempt.  It took 4 shots to accomplish my goal (the 1st 3 missed).  The 4th hit the nail on the head and shattered making a nice looking little fireworks type pattern around the nail!

The 2nd two pictures were my 2nd attempt.  This time I nailed it (pardon the pun) on the second shot!  Again the pellet shattered making a nice little pattern around the nail.

So, yes, I guess the FX Dreamline can be classified as a tack driver!

Nice ting about using a gun than a hammer is if you miss you fingers don't take the impact ;)

I didn't see this until now, sorry Paul.

But holy moly that is one beautiful rifle! Totally jelly, but also glad for you! And shoots like it's namesake too...wow!

I don't think I could ever get one of those. They're too pretty and I'd baby them waaay too much...a scratch would probably send me livid.  ;D

Congrats on the new shooter...she's gorgeous!
