Hi
Recently took delivery of this mould and it's brilliant, always wanted to cast my own since seeing an advert for the L.E.M Spitzer mould when I was younger. Had a preliminary go with it and got decent results accuracy wise, got potential to be a great close range ratting pellet. Regrettably I neglected to order the sprue plate lube so has anyone got any suggestions for an alternative? Would silicone oil be sufficient or 3 in 1 oil? Also how do you upload pics, I'm not particularly forum savvy!
Regards

Synthetic 2 stroke oil.. ;) pretty sure that is what it is...
-
Thanks I'll pick some up tomorrow :D

I use plain ol' everyday 2 cycle oil for the sprue plate, just little on a paper towel and lightly coat the plate.
-
Yep, 2 cycle oil. I use a que tip to apply around the hinge pin and coat the plate.... lightly as you don’t want any run off to get into the cavities of the mold.
Re apply as needed as you cast.

NOE builds some fantastic molds.

I have been using Stihl 2 stroke oil (Weed Eater and Chainsaw oil) for years now
Sweed of NOE told me it wold work just fine. 8)

Brilliant. Thank you for the responses, I intend to have another casting session tomorrow.
Wayne52, yes they do, If I lived in America with their better gun laws I'd be buying a lot more moulds to play around with (and a lot more guns ;)). Seriously impressed with the quality and the service too.
All the best

I think the SYNTHETIC 2cycle oil works better than regular 2cycle oil

Our skilled trades have been dwindling considerably for decades over here in the U.S. and I'm really glad that some hold on to the old ideals like NOE. Hopefully skilled trades is on it's way back here in the U.S. once again.

Not if our Washington Comrades have anything to say about it. :(

Just wait another 3 to 5 years when AI and cheap automation really rolls in and see the mass unemployment. {ALL fields, not just machining}
Good for us if you've got money because machined stuff actually is cheaper made on a CNC mass produced but who will have money?
It's going to be a big problem but most people are not aware how fast it's coming...
I'm retired so I care but it will not effect me so lucky.
