I have a friend's sons 342 that may have several pellets stuck in the barrel. That is problem 1. Problem 2 is that I'm not sure if the bolt is broken. Should it have a probe to push the pellet in?

I believe that's a flow through bolt. The end looks like it's shaped for a round ball. There are many members on here with much more knowledge than I maybe they can confirm.

That sure looks like a flow through bolt to me, but looks like it is dented / chipped on the end.
It should have a hole on the side that aligns up to the transfer port and the air flows through the center to the pellet

I just did a check in the manual
The flow through bolt was part number 3465 (342,340), the probe style was the 34765 (347)
Here is a PDF scan of it...

You can usually remove stuck pellets with a 3/16" hardwood dowel for .22 cal. It may take some Pell Oil or some kind of lube down the barrel, then tap out the stuck pellets with the dowel.

I bought a Crsoman 102 that had a bonus of 10 pellets stuck in the barrel.
Removed the bolt, butt on the floor and used a steel .22 caliber cleaning rod down the barrel.
A few light taps with a wood block deformed the pellet head into the cleaning rod threads and pulled the front one out. did the same for 5 more then pushed the rest out to the rear.
Just go slow and easy.

What is your guns serial number?
I believe Scott is correct in your bolts part number pending the serial number. Definitely the 'flow through' version & yes it is bent.
My first contacts for anything vintage Benji would be Rick from 'Precision Pellet', or Mike Baker. If all else fails this seller has an excellent inventory as well...

By any chance is your gun the 'checkered' version? I ask because my checkered Benji has the same bolt. Here are a few design changes spanning several years...
