Post by: msurf on March 16, 2019, 03:21:29 PM
Just picked up a 300-59-RF-BZ5 RG4 cavity .30 mold...25% off all inventory, if you have ordered from them before.  ;D

Just purchased a .25 hunter.
This sale was timed perfectly as I had just cast a few .30 cal pellets today for the first time using a mold I purchased back in December.
They turned out so nice I couldn't resist buying a mold for my .25.

I got the Hunter, too.  If these do well out of the Synrod cranked up like I have it, they are going to be great for hunting.

Is the hunter the lighter version?

I have the original, which I think is now called the magnum. Maybe. lol

It did terrible out of the 1-14 twist, but now out of the 1-17-18 twist, it is a fine shooting pellet. I really like it! 8)

I wish that they had the molds that I want but they're out of stock and have been for quite some time now.  I already have the .25 cals in both Hunter and Magnum Hunter, I doubt I'd have a use for the wad cutters in that caliber is why I never got one.

The meplat pellets are devastating on quarry I even recovered a closer 35 yard fragment from the nap of the neck in the hide of a squirrel that started out as a 23 grain pellet but the fragment was 15.66 grain and the other part exited.  I shot a crow Tuesday at 60-70 yards with one too.

My 217-20-RF mold is the most recent mold that I've bought and it's litterally paid for itself already shooting my Crosman 150's this winter with them.

This is typical of a 5 yard group shooting from an office chair with arms extended

I went with the slug, not the Hunter pellet.  This one 250-41-FN-BK2 5 cavity BT.  It was very slim pickings, so I wasn't able to get the exact one I wanted, but one worth checking out that hopefully will work out.  I don't really have a clue to begin with, but at least I am in the game now in 25 cal.  The price was right!

Thanks Mike !!! I recently acquired the camera that took those pictures too, it was a parts camera just like my old one and I made one good camera from the two.  When I bought the original camera it was over $400 but for the new old one I bought that for $30.
