Is there a bore size that's smaller than .177 ? Would a .125 pellet in theory even stabilize ? Would it have to be the same proportions a .177 / .22 ? If for no other reason than curiosity.. would a .125" or .100" or even .0875 pellet or slug work ? I know the FPE would be minimal and I imagine if it was a good idea, somebody would have done it by now. I am just curious if the math scales down below .177 ?

.17 firearms.. .172"

The .17 is a rimfire firearm round, not a pellet - and it's not even the smallest ever. The German Kolibri (Hummingbird) probably holds that title. It was a 2.7 mm centerfire pistol which could propel a 3 grain bullet at 650 fps. This would be just under .11 caliber. There were only about 1000 of these six shot semiautomatic pistols made.

The smallest I know of in PBs is a .10 cal.... Here are two, with a .22LR round in between....

The most common extreme smallbore is .14 cal.... http://www.14caliber.com/ (http://www.14caliber.com/) …. It appears you may be able to buy barrels in that caliber, smaller I have no idea....

You can buy jacketed or solid bullets down to .10 cal....

The smallest cast bullet available is the NOE .172 cal 24 gr.... although I am sure that a custom die could be made to swage them if you had enough money....

Those are cool little rounds... I need one for my bullet board. I think the idea of working out a smaller then 177 pellet gun is very intriguing. Building something like that on a HW30 or a real nice pumper foundation would be very cool to see.

Also, small, but not smallest,
The 4.25 mm Liliput pistol is one of the smallest semiautomatic handguns ever made. Hence its name, derived from the fictional island of Lilliput, inhabited by tiny people. The Liliput was manufactured by Waffenfabrik August Menz in Suhl, Germany from approximately 1920 to 1927. Wikipedia
Caliber: 4.25 mm (.167 in),.25 in (6.35 mm)
Cartridge: 4.25mm Liliput,.25 ACP,.32 ACP
Manufacturer: August Menz
