Title: Crosman 150 pistol
Post by: Nvreloader on February 25, 2019, 12:52:08 AM
I have just about talked myself into getting another pistol, a Crosman 150, 22 cal.
Anyone care to give me the 411 on this pistol?

I know there is 2 different models, Variant 1 & 2,
but I don't know the difference between them, which variant would is the best and get parts for it etc?

Another problem is, I can't see iron sights with a 2 handed combat hold, Weaver style, but,
I just got new eye spec's and using my Coonan 357 mag pistol, I can now see both front and rear sights, again,
but would like to mount a 2x pistol scope or a Red Dot sight, but I don't know anything about it either.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, to help this OLD phart out.

Thanks,
Don

You'll probably want to look for/PM Wayne52  over on Vintage Airgun Gate. Those are his favorite!

I much prefer the late version - one piece barrel and breech (like Crosman 180 carbine) - much better sights.

Thanks Guys

Matchstickshooter
I have sent Wayne a pm, but he has not answered it yet or he didn't get it,

I have sent several PM's to several other members, and I got no replys,
and I don't get the pop up that says I a pm, since I average at least 1-2 power outages per day,
and have to restart this plastic box every time,
and I am sure that I am NOT operating this plastic box correctly etc..

Craig,
How do you tell the differences between the 1st or 2nd models,
I have no experience or seen one to hold it etc.

Thanks,
Don

Don I haven't got any good ideas on a scope with one of these guns. Maybe you could find a mount you could alter to be used in place of the rear sight.  I haven't even tried going there myself, fortunately I've still got 20-20 vision from arms length out and when my arms are extended I can still get a decent enough target picture.

Thanks Wayne

I am not too worried about scope/Red Dot mounting, as I have mill/lathe and be fix that real quick.  LoL

How do you tell the difference between the models, when looking at photo's,
I have seen different photo's of each type, I think, but I have NO Idea what I am looking at or for etc.

Don

The Type 1 has the separate breech and barrel.

The barrel and receiver are machine from one piece on the Type 2's

This is a Ted Williams dolled up type 2 the only differences are the vent rib and elevation adjustments on the rear sight.

Thanks Guys

I can see the differences now........

Question,
Can a shoulder stock be added, if it fits the brand name,
I have seen several photo's that had the shoulder stocks added to convert back and forth?

Tia,
Don

The Crosman 1399 shoulder stock will not fit, at least without modification.   The old grip frames are straight and without the raised portion at the front.   The new, current grip frames have a curved surface at the rear.

I used these Crosman barrel clamp mounts to put a dot sight on a 2240. The screws are really small and known to strip if over-tightened.

Also this weaver to 3/8 converter works well.

Thank you Guys
For all the info/photo's etc.

Now to find the one I want, LOL without having to sell the ranch down the river,
to get it.

I have a single bill in the rat hole, so far, but the 25 caliber itch is getting bad.
I guess it all depends on which shows up first.............

I just got new eye spec's and now I can't see to shoot,
the scopes are very blurry with double cross hairs etc, I have to figure this out.........
Thanks,
Don

The 1399 stock is designed to fit both new and old style frames with no modification.

I just tried out a 1399 stock on one of my 150's and it fits pretty well, just needs a little rubber underneath.  I originally did not think it would fit.  ;D
