Is there a way to find an older thread that I had started?
The search option is coming up with page after page of threads.
Thanks

Click on Profile, then Summary and on the left side click where it says Your Posts. If nothing else, it will shorten the list to just the ones you've posted in.

Advanced search and limit it that way. Sort by reverse date started.

Consider yourself lucky - I frequently get "0" returned. :o Add more detail, i.e., more words to tune the search.
Sometimes using google outside the forum (and specifying the forum name - or not, with the other search words) finds the desired post.

You only have four pages to scroll though: https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;sa=topics;u=36881 (https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;sa=topics;u=36881)

Doing a refined search in a specific gate will usually give a much better result.

Drop the following into Google:
site:gatewaytoairguns.org foo bar
This will do a google search for "foo bar" on GTA. Sometimes it helps when you know what you are looking for, but just can't find it.
