Post by: PeterL on February 05, 2019, 10:09:41 AM
Other than NOE, who else sells sizing dies?
Thanks.

I have had good luck with LEE from Midway or Amazon.

Hi Don,
I thought the same way earlier into airgunning. However, when it comes to bullets and gaining the best accuracy and performance, it’s honestly a no brainer.  However, others think otherwise.

I have a few Lee dies, and if they happen to come out at the advertised size, and round, you are lucky.... AFAIK, all the other companies, other than NOE, you have to change the entire die every time you want a different size, and Lee are the cheapest at around $20, and some brands are much more.... Once you purchase the NOE die set, all you have to buy to change sizes are the bushings, at $9.95 ea.... I have a huge collection for a fraction of what it would have cost from anyone else....

IMO there is just no other sizing system that makes sense.... and NOE are also the only company that makes and stocks airgun sizes....

Bob that is what I have been wanting to hear.  It's very confusing (to me) trying to get started in casting as to what equipment to get.

When you say "NOE die set"  I am assuming you mean "Push Through Size Die Body" and the bushings that fit into it for your desired bullet diameter.

What press will be best used with this set, or will it work in any presses available.  I hear the Lee top punch is a cheapy, but that's just one I know about right now.

Noe is the easiest to open up to exact size. I use lee type but make them myself. If I was starting I would go with NOE. I have custom sized a lot of the sizers for people.

The only issue I have with it is to long for the hand size to close. Still works but you have to remove to adapter to close to put in tool box. I use the lee hand sizer so I can take with me and size while shooting. Sometimes changing the size will change how good a bullet shoots

So how does one use the Noe Dies?  With a press? If so, are they compatible with Lee presses?

Yes, you use them with a press, I have the inexpensive Lee bench press, and it works great with the NOE dies.... You get the "Push Through Size Die Body" and then "Body Bushings" in whatever diameters you want.... You will also need a "Push Rod" for each caliber you want to size.... I would suggest you get your barrel groove diameter and 0.001" smaller for each caliber you want to size.... I have one pushrod plus 5 bushings for each caliber that I shoot, groove diameter, 0.001" and 0.002" both under and over....

After doing some more research, I purchased everything I needed from NOE. For all the parts I needed, their is no one beating the price. Thank you all for your inputs and experiences. It really helped make my decision very easy. Thanks.

Awesome, thanks Bob. Funny I've looked at Noe's site several times, but it wasn't clear how the sizers worked.

DON  C. There are long range shooters, and  record holders here, Testers Here, and at least two national match winners, along with Top Gun Builders of cast and swaged bullets along with at least four of  the most accurate AG's to grace the planet. . We all size, and know what it takes for ultimate accuracy.

No disrespect meant Sir, but if you really can't see the difference, I can't help but think either your shooting equipment, or other issues or abilities keep you from knowing, or realizing the difference. Whether it be AirGuns or Powder Burners.

The Differences are HUGE!!!

Thanks for the input!  I decide to go with NOE moulds, handles, dies and bushings along with other NOE offerings starting out.  I'm looking forward to quality cast in the future.  The 4 cavity HP mould I selected might be a bit much for a newb to start out with, but it will be a good learning experience if nothing else.

I am using NOE pellet dies for resizing the heads and skirts etc,
and they work perfectly, in the way I am using them etc.

See this post with photo's in #32 post.
