I'm thinking about keeping my Disco and if I do I'd like modify the stock so it fits me better and, perhaps at the same time, bring its looks more up to date. Custom stocks at Boyds are around $200 which is beyond my budget. I have decent wood working and fiberglass / epoxy skills. What I need are ideas and inspiration. Maybe a pistol grip and extending AR style butt? I'd like to keep material costs under $50. Any ideas?
Photo is not exactly what I'm thinking, but close enough to get the conversation going.

This is closer to what I'm thinking....

Plywood is essentially a laminate.... and they make some really nice plywoods, Beech, Oak, Maple, even Walnut.
If you own a jig saw and a router, a couple of pieces of 3/4 or 1" A-C plywood glued together, the imagination is the limit.
Maybe search ebay / amazon for a Tippman stock for a starting point?

I have basic wood working tools: table saw, jig saw, drill press, dremmel, rasp, sander, etc. I'll look at whether I can chop up and adapt the existing stock, maybe carve and epoxy more wood where necessary. If it doesn't look like that'll work, I may build a new stock.
Attached is the naked wood stock by Rhineland Arms. It's a basic, wood stock with what looks like an AK buffer tube mount (https://4range.com/product/m4-car-buffer-tube-pignose-stock-adapter--saigaak47-14873.html (https://4range.com/product/m4-car-buffer-tube-pignose-stock-adapter--saigaak47-14873.html)) and AK pistol grip mount (https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/AK47-MOUNT-FOR-PISTOL-GRIP-NEW-p116.htm (https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/AK47-MOUNT-FOR-PISTOL-GRIP-NEW-p116.htm)). Sadly, just those two parts alone will put me close to my $50 budget. I'll keep looking. I can probably use airsoft stock parts since this rifle will have no recoil. Hopefully I'll find some parts cheap on ebay or c-list.

stretch, read the post at top by Howie on making a stock. Very good. I used it to make all my stocks. Craig
