Title: Umarex Fusion vs XS-60C?
Post by: stretch on January 04, 2019, 05:42:38 AM
I love how quiet the Fusion is reported to be but the XS-60C's wood stock, .22 cal and a tune by Mike are all very attractive.  Has anyone successfully put a moderator on their XS-60C?  How much louder is it than the Fusion?  How cold can the weather be and still shoot CO2?

I have a XS60C PCP Gen 1 in .22 that I put a TKO on and
WOW
Night and Day
You hear the Hammer then the impact.
Then I put the same .22 TKO on my
XS60C PCP Gen 1.5 in .177
This one was opened up by Mike M for Full Power
Same as before, Click then impact

So the TKO is as effective (or more so) than the one that comes with the Fusion?  Do you remember what the barrel diameter is on your XS60C?

Something like 15mm
The TKO is for real not just looks like
the fusion
I'm getting a couple of new ones Saturday
from someplace else
And will be testing with a "Real"-
db meter that I have and hope that they are close to as effective as the
TKO has proven to be.
They didn't cost even half of what the tko did but
the testing will tell.
Hope this helps

I own a Fusion, actually two as i got one for my Dad. I have an XS-60C in .22 opened up by Mike to shoot 675 or so FPS and i have a Rocker 1 LDC on it.  I hear a click then the impact.  Much quieter than the Fusion.

Both Fusions were $85 from Walmart on their outstanding deal on that rifle.  If that price ever comes around again it is a deal not to be missed.  The synthetic stock and one piece LDC are very durable.

If you do not need the extreme durability of the synthetic stock and one piece LDC of the Fusion then  in my mind it is a no-brainer to go with the XS-60C and an LDC by Rocker 1 or whoever you prefer.

You probably know that the guns are the same but Mike will set it his rifle up to your needs go through it thoroughly and then stands behind his work and his product.  The same holds true for Rocker 1.

Give this thread a few minutes and you will see many others here telling you the same thing.

One thing I'm seeing in almost every review of these rifles is how poorly thought out the "tube cap" is.  I see that (not allowed to mention his name) offers a simpler replacement.  Anyone have any experience with this?

i bought one of his endcaps to use on my fusion ... i really cant say it is night and day better than the OEM one (at least when i bought one from him years ago)

i own both the xs60c and fusion ... the fusion is darn quiet with oem LDC on it ... the 60c needs one for my neighborhood shooting.

both are nicely accurate out to the 25 yards i can shoot in my yard .. the synth stock on the fusion is nice .. i do like the wood on the xs60c, however the synth stock feel as solid as the wood to me

Mike ships his 60C with the stock fill cap and the other version.

I have no problem with the stock type and it is easy to use.  I prefer it to the aftermarket version because i would rather open a valve to drain the CO2 than shoot the gun down.  As far as Orings, yes they absorb CO2 and swell. I have 5 different types and they all swell but they shrink back down quickly.  It is a good idea to have a few spares handy.  They are cheap.  I have not damaged one yet after several hundred cartrdges.  They do not always swell, and if you must reload before your oring shrinks back down just swap an oring and go.

Once again go with Mike and you have your choice of caps!

BTW I have a $40 Amazon 6-24 X 50 scope on mine and it shoots H&N FTT 14.66s at 30 yds into groups easily covered with a quarter usually a nickle and often a dime.

My .177 co2 Fusion is sitting over in the corner....think it'sfate is to be a "donor"rifle(will stripoff the pasts I need from it until it'sa skeleton).

A lot of the parts fit my .22 XC60C PCP....even though I've had little reason to look for spare parts over the years with that rifle.

YEs, you can get a good LDC for the XC60C PCP.

Just understand it....it's made to run safely with a 1500psi max. fill. The design pretty well limits that, no amount of valve fixation of wishful thinking is going to change that.

But from that fill pressure,in .22, you can make avout 12-13 good shots at 25 foot pounds or 20 good shots at 20 foot pounds.

And if you've the urge for co2....it actually works pretty well as a bulk-fill co2.
