Title: Did a little casting
Post by: Mada on December 27, 2018, 02:03:14 PM
Had some time on Christmas so I cast some from a new mold lee 358-200 gc. I'm still waiting for my .357 sizer. Did shoot a few not sized just for fun but the neighbors put a stop to that. I would think my 12 acres would buffer some sound  but not enough. I just got a .357 Texan with 300bar tank shooting the 200gr at 940fps 😁from what I was told. I guess now I need a emperor so the cops don't show up.

Nice casted bullets. How accurate are these in the Texan at full power?

I haven't shot enough for groups yet, it will take a while to get use to the power of the rifle. The guy I got the gun from said 1/2"-5/8"@100 yards sized to.357
I have never shot a group that small with with any of my rifles I would be happy with 1.5" with my shakiness
I would send you some but your a little far and funds are tight.
the 2 cavity mold is around $20 us
Is there a bullet that you have found accurate?

Nice looking bullets.... How do they load in the Texan?.... Can you push them in close to flush with the end of the barrel with your thumb?....

With the bullets straight out of the mold no I can still see one full band. When I'm pushing in it feels like I hit a wall.
From what I've read I know I want it to load flush hopefully .357 sizer  will get me flush. I wish I had a micrometer.

Thanks for the offer to sent me slugs. Shipment would be very expensive. I'll better buy the mould if these bullets are accurate.
No, I haven't found a bullet that is accurate.

The first casting I had pure lead from roto metals they came in at 203-206gr the next time I used salvaged lead from a catch with a mix of lead,Jsb 95% and some crosman pellets they came out 199-202gr.
