Don I'm really surprised you beat Bob to the punch posting this, he must be busy today and might even not know about it yet ??? You already know that I've ordered mine, did you order the brass one too?
-
Wayne
Ya kinda surprised also, that I beat BOB, he must be slowing down in his OLD age, ;) LOL
he just replied to my post on the 22 PR push rods and I let him know also.
Yes, I got the brass 4 cav mold, I got a big itch to cast those pellets, after seeing your results.
I have got close to 50#'s of pure soft lead now, tested with the pencil method,
just have to get the lead into small enough ingots for the Lee pot, bottom pour,
and or the 10# pot I have.
I am going to try real hard to follow to your casting results,
If I get good results, I'll be fat dumb and happy. ;)
I'll post my results, good, bad or otherwise..............

I would like to try the lighter .25's.
I need to cast some of the heavier .25's in the new .257 bbl. Ya never know! ;) ;D

Hey Guys
For those of us that have the 22 cal NOE pellet molds, (none of mine have been delivered yet),
reason for this question.
What is the diameter of the skirt base pin?
I have a project going on that I am making a pellet head bumper sizer,
using NOE sizing dies, to slightly increase the pellets head size to fit what diameter of bbl I am using,
looking for the best/perfect head size for the best accuracy etc.
Thanks,
Don

The OD of the base pins on my .22 Magnum Hunter mould is a "polished" 5/16".... 0.3115"....

Today one of my 23 grain Magnum Hunters fragmented going through a fox squirrels head, it was an angled shot close to being head on, a 7.34 grain fragment of it exited the back of his head and the 15.66 grain part was buried in the nap of his neck in his hide. No movement after it dropped. It was about a 20-25 yard shot, they're doing about 35fpe at the muzzle. They're devastating on the squirrels.

Guys
Has anyone that bought the 22 Hunter mold, received them yet,
(there as been 6 sold) since I last checked today.
Just checkin,
as the Pony Express rider get ambushed sometimes, out here in Ingun country.... LOL
I have a BIG itch that needs scratching.........

I just got an email that my order for the 20gr, .22 Hunter mold shipped. Placed order on the 23rd or 24th I think. Estimated delivery is Monday. Not too bad, one week from order placement.

Mine will be here Monday according to USPS tracking . . . I can't wait !!! it looks like some cold weather casting will be on the agenda 8)
I'll be testing them out first over the chrony with my recently revamped Crosman 150, the gun has more velocity than a brand new 2240. I've already shot the Magnum Hunters from it at 420fps, when the co2 cartridge runs out I'm going to see how fast it's slinging the 217-30 BBT's because it's shooting them well for a co2. Lawdy Lawdy I love them old guns too ;)

Sweet old Crosman Wayne. My Uncles gave me a well used pumper Crosman pistol with no sights when I was 8 or 9. Learned to shoot it pretty well Good enough to get a few rabbits for the pot. LOL!
I wore the old gun out. Actually broke the pumping arm in half. Took Crosman over a year to mail me a new one. GRRRR!!!
Loved Handguns ever since.

Thanks Michael !!! I get a charge out of bringing an old gun back to life like that.

NICE! Looks great for a 60+ years old AG. I would love to have one of these old Gals.
There are a few on eBay that I have my eyes on. It's got to fun to shoot.

Thanks Wayne and Franklink,
Rub salt in the wound, LOL ;)
I haven't received any notice yet, about my 2 molds etc.
and I live on NOE's border................ :o

Don, did you get a confirmation email from NOE acknowledging the order.... and then a second one stating it was "processing".... If you didn't get both of those, I would suggest that for some reason your order didn't go through.... You can check in your account at NOE and look at the order history and find out that way, also.... If the order status is "shipped" then that is another problem entirely, but you should let NOE know you haven't received it....

If your order didn't go through, it might be a blessing in disguise as I see Bob's post that they're 20% off right now. Kinda wish I had waited a few days to place my order.
