I know I have a nice list of air arms.
Some, I recently purchased but...
If some one here in Commifornia said “You Can Only Have Just one!”, which would it be?
The R1 started it all-the journey into adult air arms and I would hate to let it go.
The TX200, well what can you say?
The D52, the animal!
The FWB300 (new to me) can do it at 10M like few others.
The Daisys (they are for the grand-daughter).
The PCPs....?
The IZZY...fun with my hunting partner in Kansas.
The Sheridan is a good gun for the truck.
The Crosman 2300S uses those cartridges, you know.
No, if I had to have just one it would be the HW35e outfitted as it is with the Beeman/Wiliams peep.
Handy, powerful for squirrels and rabbits and deadly accurate and if pushed could serve as a survival arm.
This is just me and I at 73 I will probably survive any future restrictions coming from the comrades in Sacramento and the arms are not registered (not yet) are they?
But if I had to choose, the HW35e is the one for me...
-
Only one, huh?
HW97K .20 is the obvious choice. M
-
I don't have a lot, but for now I would choose my Beeman R9 in .177. Accurate and hits hard enough for hunting small game. Though I have a TX 200 that could fill that role in spades, its just a bit to heavy and awkward to me. As it happens I've been lusting for a 35E over at Krale's. Man that has to be one of the classiest springers I've ever seen.
-
This comes up periodically, so my choice changes depending on my mood. Currently, my 392, though sometimes my modded 1377 or my PP700. Long term longevity, I don't think there's much with the durability of a brass pumper.
-
If I was still doing Field Target, it would be the 177 Brocock Bantam (Hi Lite 480cc bottle); 60 pumps to 2300 psi gets me 80 accurate shots; 8.44 grain @ 884 fps = 14.65 fpe.
If I dumped Field Target, no doubt it would be the 22 GAMO Urban; light, sturdy, handy, accurate and versatile.
-
My ' 79 Sheridan blue streak, it's my most prized possession period let alone the fact that it's such a great gun.
-
Only one air gun ?
I would keep my Rainstorm II .30 ....what an insane all around gun it is !
But if I could then I would sell all my airsenal and get an AmericanAirArms EVOL .30 ....the ultimate all around airgun.
-
I’d go with my .177 hw97k. Great do it all springer.
R
-
Right now it would have to be Daystate Huntsman .177.
Tomorrow it might be Air Arms MPR .177 or maybe reverse.

If I could only have one I'd find a FWB 300. I don't have one but I've shot them.
-
Hw30 .20, fun, accurate, lightweight, quality, it´s a weirauch, did i say fun?
-
Plinking and just informal fun with a pellet rifle ..... Would rewind time back some near 40 years ago ending up at the FWB 124 springer.
accurate, easy to shoot ... a classic for good reason.
-
If I had to choose one, my WARP COBRA. Can tune it to whatever I'd need it for.
-
If only one, i’ve got to consider weight, accuracy, longevity, reasonable small game power, ease of repair............... got it!
Benji 392!!!!!
-
This question has always seemed to me about the same as if someone asks me to open my toolbox and keep just one tool. Screwdriver? Hammer? Pliers?
Each one of my airguns does something a little better than all the others, just like every tool does something uniquely well.
Just one? Doesn't seem practical!
-
My all-around favorite would probably be either of my fwb-124s....
Mid-size, classic beauty, accurate as can be, smooth as butter to shoot.
Beautiful gun in every way.
-
Of what I have, Gamo Urban. Of what I don't have, Daystate Huntsman Regal XL .22.

I don’t have a 124 but I have shot Scott’s.
My partner in Kansas has one and he won’t even let me shoot his! >:(
-
The 124 is a nice shooting gun. I really like the workmanship esp. the safety.

HW95/R9 .177

If the list opened up to include guns I've not owned, the FWB 65-MKII and 124 are about even for me... but the Beeman C-1 is Top Dawg. Been wanting one since I first saw it in the catalog. Priorities keep getting in the way of owning one, but soon, I hope.

I had a C1 two years ago.
Made for little people.
Gave it away..

Same could be said about the HW-30 and R-7. I'm 5'10" with monkey arms and put many a winged-rat in the bag with a .20 R-7. I just like the straight stock- really gives the C-1 a svelte clean look.
-
The R9/HW95 in .177 is my choice for one airgun that can do it all. It can hunt, target shoot, and plink with the best of them.
The gun that feels the best in my hands is a vintage HW50S, but it doesn't come close to the target accuracy or hunting power of the trusty ol' R9.
-
My 1976 HW50s, pre safety, leather seal. Its super accurate and a joy to shoot.
-
If some one here in Commifornia said “You Can Only Have Just one!”, which would it be?
For fun or survival?
If the well dried up for parts?
SHTF scenario?
For all around affection?
At this point I'd say my 342. The search for one of my youth is what lead me to GTA.
No support equipment. They made a boat load so parts should be available for decades. IF I had to put meat on the table this'll do it. AND for fun it always puts a smile on my face.
-
It would have to be a Sheridan for me, too !
-
If only one, of my current, it would be my raw hm1000x in .22.
But if i can get my hands on the evol in .25 , then that will be it... shooting 25 gr and 34 gr jsb’s, this would be able to cover many grounds, light, high quality, short - seems like the perfect gun to me
-
Walther LGV .177
-
+1 on the R9, accurate, easy to carry, and powerful enough for feed yourself. Just throw some pellets in your shirt pocket and your good to go for any type of shooting.
-
Just 1? If springer my D460 in .177 solid hard hitting and accurate. IF PCP probably my Evanix RS II .22 but that my soon change once the Air Speed .25 arrives. Fortunately only 1 is not required or mandated by the powers that be. :D ;D

I like looking at the poster's response on which he would choose.. then look at his list of guns to see if I would agree.

Yes I actually enjoy my variety and would be hard pressed to part with any but the BSA

My favorite rifle including the multiple firearms I own is by far and away my Hw30. It has tens of thousands of rounds through it and is still crazy accurate. It's been through springs and tune kits but the basic rifle is all original. I usually use it in my basement range with a Williams FP-AG peep sight. Once in awhile I'll put a Hawke 2-7 Airmax on it to shoot milk bottle caps to 50 yards. The most fun rifle I own. BAR NONE!
-
My vote is TX200. This rifle is used by Field Target shooters because it gives you the best chance to win......WHY?......because it's the most accurate. Of course the HW77 and HW97 are diect competition. The HW's are offered in different stock choices. The TX200 has only one. I still prefer the TX because the trigger block is superior to the HW's. The block is machined from solid, the HW block is folded steel.
-
If I could have only one and relied on it as a utilitarian tool, then my 392 would be the choice. It can make meat, isn't pellet-picky, and it's durable as heck. A brass barrel/body doesn't hurt either. As much as I loved my Blue Streak, .20 pellets are still harder to come by than .22. About the only complaint is optics require gimicky mounts.
Still love the old German springers- make no mistake.
-
These "if I could only have one gun" threads are always interesting and I do enjoy reading them, so don't take it the wrong way when I say they don't mean much to me, personally, since my shooting interests, both with air guns and with power burners, are way too diverse and varied to be done with only one gun. I think a more appropriate question for a shooter like me is, what gun do you shoot the most? As far as airguns go, that one is pretty easy. In terms of hours shot, the HW30S is an easy winner, despite the fact that we have a large and varied air gun collection.
-
Appreciating that most of my air gun’s are engineered to excel in a specific application, I would choose the Thomas because its adjustability allows for shooting a wide range of .177 pellet weights exceptionally well.
-
So far: 21 springers, 6 pumpers and 8pcp.
-
Springer would be HW98, and PCP would be Thomas FT carbine.

I hope I never have to have just one :-\
-
I do not have enough pellets behind me to honestly answer , just curious though , has any one kept track of how many of what got how many votes? Seems like the Benji pumpers or hw30 is in the lead!
-

I'll say this. I once was on a quest to find the most enjoyable air gun. I found SO many people who love their HW30 it was ... remarkable!
I had one for about a month and they are fun to shoot. Easy to cock & load with a great trigger. Even though it is a "small" gun, it seems to fit most people very well. I'm 6' 1" with arms that take a 37" sleeve. It was quite comfortable and handy for me.
People do also like their Benji pumpers.
-
If I had to pick just one, it would have to be my D460 22cal. Powerful (23+fpe), and very accurate - A real beauty.

My D460 photo #2

I haven't found the "one to rule them all" yet. So it would be my P-17. It's usually the gun i put in my suitcase when i travel and its the gun i get out when I'm bored or i have 20 minutes to kill
-
Warp cobra long 25 cal. ground squirrel slayer. :D
-
If we ignore the S.H.T.F factor and just look at pure fun and still capable hunter out to 60 + yards then my new Air Speed .25 At ~40 fpe and quick second through 9th shot with very little poi shift .
For pure survival to put meat on the table at 20 fpe my .177 Diana D460 it's a little on the heavy side but not terrible. Also lazer accurate and with 10.34gr pellets lethal on small game and pests.
Both of these rifles are capable rifles with huge smile factor in the equation
