Come one, come all... Casual Match 3 is open for business.
The Casual Match is a fun match. Shoot whatever you want at 10M (more or less depending on what you have available), use any position or rest that you prefer. See below for the details.
Rules are the same as for the 50 Casual Match, except distance is 10M instead of 50, using the 50 target of choice. If you are limited to distance, shoot at whatever distance you have available. Classes are PCP Rifle (includes any rifle except spring or nitro pistons), Piston Rifle, and Pistol. One entry may be made in each class.
The match will run through Sunday, 12/30/2018.
The 50 rules and targets may be found at:
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=114644.0 (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=114644.0)

Richard, that is pretty darn good for one off hand pistol.
I need to try my 1740... or maybe not... LOL
-
Scott, great scores on both targets. I am still learning on my FWB124's when my bad shoulders let me shot them. Craig

Thanks Craig!
My FWB300S has been jealous since the HW98 showed up.

Thank you sir! I'm enjoying trying to figure out the secret to improving my 10M pistol scores. Seems to me it's about half feeling the force a la Luke Skywalker. Alas, the force is yet to stay with me for a full target ...

. . . Hoosier Daddy . . . i just want to thank you for taking the time and effort to do such a terrific job with posting the scores.
it makes it very easy for each shooter to see their week-to-week status throughout the match . . . thank you very much.

Awe shucks... thanks Chuck, our previous host JimQwerty123 did a better job.
He was "johnny on the spot". Mentored us older members on how it should be done.
I only hope I can do a reasonable job.

Ran out of time today, started to rain.

Tom, 180 is nothing to sneeze at!
This stuff ain't easy, especially out doors. You are right where I was when I started... patience... it will come.
Are you familiar with what is called the B.R.A.S.S. method? The military taught me that. Breath, Relax, Aim, Slack, Squeeze.
https://www.wideopenspaces.com/shooting-brass-can-make-shots-easier/ (https://www.wideopenspaces.com/shooting-brass-can-make-shots-easier/)
Now here is another trick I learned from an old Korean War Vet Marine...my Dad.
Mount the gun, get your sight picture. Then ...Close your eyes and count to 5 (maybe 10 at first). When you open your eye, you will probalbly see the POA (Point Of Aim) has changed. Adjust your position and try again. When it comes the point that you open you eye it is the same, on target, THAT is what your body structure wants.
Give it a try and let me know if those help.

Wait... what? Your supposed to have your eyes open? ;D
I will try some of these tips, that is if it ever stops raining.

It is so bad I did not even attempt to score it as frankly I cant tell which shots belong to which targets ;D I would guess around a 20?

I am with you Bro... I tried off hand pistol and completely missed the pellet trap. Scars on the wall to prove it. :o
I determined it takes a better man that I.

Heh at first I tried the usual 24 bull target but I could not even see them :P and oh yea when I first put the stop out at the 10 meter range I was missing the stop altogether. I had to move it up to like 10 feet to start getting the red dot aligned.
I usually shoot that gun indoors at close range so the sight was way off :D

Call name or real name: KB7PYF Charlie
PCP Class: SSP
Air rifle or Pistol: Daisy 753 Rifle (stock)
Sighting system: Diopter (stock)
Pellet and caliber: JSB Match .177 8.02 gr

50 foot 4.5mm pellet target
Scored with a pellet and magnifying glass. This rifle is capable of shooting two pellets thru the same hole! Which I had a hard time to believe. But its true. Blew my socks off. Try a Daisy 753 Match rifle you might just be impressed, I know I am!!
