I have both somewhat...2240 has been modified since i got it and got a Diana chaser kit 177 which is pistol rifle kit with ldc.
If compared in stock form...chaser is better buy, just buy co2 carts and lot's of pellets and can stack pellet on top of each other. Advantage of Crosman 2240 is parts availability and be prepared to order parts to make it shoot like the chaser. The Diana Chaser kit is a better buy, you get a pistol that can transform to carbine. You can mount a scope and get a magazine to shoot as repeater. I get about 50 usable shots on one cartridge.

Same, had both and sold the CP2 (Chaser). The reason i kept the crosman is the tinkering. Might not exist another gun like mine in my country and i like things to be my own way.
However its true when you compare a pure 2240 to a pure Chaser, the chaser is a better buy

I have the MROD version of the Chaser and a 2240.  I like and plan to keep both.  If I were limited to one, it would be the 2240 just because tinkering is habit forming and lots of fun.  Don't like the 2240 trigger?  So what can I do to fix it?  Want more power?  What can I do to increase FPS?  You get the point, I think.  Tinkering isn't free but it won't bankrupt you either, well, not right away anyway.  The MROD was very good from the first shot and doesn't need anything but a steady aim.  It's challenge is your shooting skill.  The 2240 challenges your tinkering and your shooting

I shoot my 2240 more than the CP1 cause i like the handle and feeling of the 2240 more

I was ready to buy one,  Then I saw how the piercing cap works.       To much work, little bolt will get lost. my fingers will hurt from using that

The chaser kit comes with an ldc. I've seen some ldc cost 100 just by themselves. I think I'm going for the chaser kit just for that reason.

Just keep in mind with LDC on you might think co2 was not pierced...that's  how effective the LDC. You can muscle it out to break the loctite so you can also use it on the short barrel.  Trigger is a nice 2 stage and very adjustable.

Thanks, i was wondering how hard it would be to get it off the rifle barrel.

I've decided on either a cp2 kit or mrodair master blaster kit.
might see if I can trade my quest 1000x for one.
