Title: Weaver K6 on marauder
Post by: Air Plinker on October 14, 2018, 02:19:47 PM
Would like to put a Weaver K6 on a marauder 22 to knock down squirrels at 50-75ft.
Want a very light 6X fixed scope and this fits the bill for that.
Can this scope focus that close?
Thanks

Magnification: 6X
Power Variability: Fixed
Objective Diameter: 38 mm
Length/Weight/Tube Diameter: 11.32 inches/9.8 ounces/1 inch
Field of View: 18.3 feet/100 yards
Eye Relief/Exit Pupil: 3.15 inches/6.3 mm
Reticle: Dual-X
Adjustment Info: 1/4 MOA/Click
Optics Coatings: Fully Multi-coated
Finish: Black Matte
Waterproof/Shockproof: Yes/Yes
Parallax Setting: Factory-set 150 yards
Airgun rated: No

I found this on Midway. Looks like factory set at 150 yards.
I use a Clearidge 3x9 that is small and light might be a perfect fit for you.
Hope this helps,
Mitch

Old one (steel tube) or a new one (Al. tube)?

Am going to say "no". They aren't as adjustable for shorert range shooting (although I'll teach you how to "cheat") PLUS the old ones are really much more fragile than the newer ones.

CHEAT: mount the scope forward more than full filed to your eye/ farther than normal eye relief....want to see a dark ring around the image in the ocular. Center that image inside the dark ring, and you'll center the scope, and parallax won't be an issue.

HOWEVER, if you want to buy a new airgun rated scope in 6X, there is a choice that I've used (with AO) that I've been quite pleased with:

Aluminum tube
Looking for lightweight.  It weighs 9.8 oz
Have a mueller APV on it now that i am happy with but trying hard to lighten it up. Mueller weighs about 18 oz.
Read that i can send it to factory to have adjusted. Also saw a youtube explaining that i could take the end ring off and carefully turn the next piece in until it focuses closer. Thinking of sending it to them instead of wrecking it myself  ;D.
Can't find a lot more info on this.
That Nikko is an interesting choice. Have you tried one?

Yeah...use a Nikko 6X's on a Chief...and a 6X Walther on a .25 QB PCP conversion.  Both are more hunting-rifles than bench-rifles, and I appreciate the field of view more than I'd care for more magnification.

Yep..some scopes allow you to readjust the objective the way you describe....others have lock tighted that retention ring until you'll screw something up trying to move it.  Either way, if you try for too short a range (like 10-20 yards), it screws up the far pretty badly (like 40-60 yards).
