Title: Idea for an app.. "Shot counter"
Post by: UlteriorModem on October 05, 2018, 08:30:13 PM
Call it the shot counter? Basically it listens' for the report of a weapon discharging and when it hears that it increases a counter by one.

The app could be stopped, closed, but it would pick up where you left when re-opened off to continue to add to the count.

It could have 'profiles' for different weapons.

This way you could keep track of how many rounds have been through a particular weapon instead of guessimating.

It probably should be editable to add subtract from the sum gathered.

Maybe something like this already exists?

Thats a pretty cool idea.  If you were talented enough you may be able to have an option for it to recognize the gun and tally accordingly.  Maybe have sub total search capability.  You could see the last minute(s) hour(s), day(s)  ect....

It would be nice not to have to Id the gun for it when you are out at a range with a few.  It could just do the math and send it to email for long term tracking.  Prob. be great to send the info with time stamps to Excel.  Let that do the sorting functions to keep it small and simple.

I'd pay a few bucks for no ads on it.  Some of my classic PCPs don't have gauges so it would help a ton.

I took a low key approach to this problem for my PCPs. I bought a 14-day pill box, and in each bin I put the amount of pellets a particular gun needs per fill. When the little bin is empty, I need more air.  ;)  I have a pill box for every PCP.

It doesn't help me keep track of the pellets downrange when I shoot my springers though...

It's not about tracking shots per fill, etc.

It's about keeping a running tally of the total number of rounds through a gun.

Would be handy when breaking in a gun?
