Title: Hawke 10-50x60 ED
Post by: Doorgunner70 on October 03, 2018, 08:16:43 PM
Purchased this with Daystate Tsar around May of 2017.  Came mounted on the rifle.  Upon first shots found impact about 2 inches low from aiming point.  Started adjusting up a couple of clicks , 1/8 moa, and continued until maxed out with result still 1 inch low. Had 2 others , including former marine sniper, try adjusting with same result.  Due to health problems I had to lay off shooting till this past month.  Took to range and had two more attempt to get on target with same results.  Sent scope to Hawke and was called by tech and told nothing wrong with scopes.  He said he would call back Mon. Or Tues. after he looked at it again. No call either day and got message from UPS scope would be delivered back to me on 4 Oct.  I had put Tsar in rifle rest and put pellet on pellet from 10 to 55 yrs.,  so don't believe rifle is problem. Just a 900 dollar mistake.

Hawke make 25 MOA shims for the scope rings.... that should correct your problem....

I agree with Bob. Either that or adjustable scope mounts and problem solved.

Not a mistake. It’s an awesome scope. I successfully use mine in Field Target matches all over the East Coast. The need to shim the back mount or use adjustable mounts is not unusual.

Optically center the scope using a mirror or as described by Tom Gaylord (https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2005/07/how-to-optically-center-a-scope/ (https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2005/07/how-to-optically-center-a-scope/))

Use the adjustable mounts and I promise you that you won’t be disappointed.

Best,
