Looking for a recommendation for an airsmith who does LW barrels for the Gauntlet. Or, if no one is doing this, someone with experience with match grade airgun barrels, who could duplicate a Gauntlet barrel using my stock barrel if I send him an LW blank.

Try Travis at JSA on this forum aka oldpro ..

I can do them as well, but require the upper receiver with cocking bolt to get the free bore / loading tray length correct so as not to have a breech o-ring air leak.
They require a bit of machine work to get it all fitted and likely looking at a C note +/- to do so. Barrel diameter tho needs to be the same as OEM if wanting to use the factory barrel band at drop block and also required for bottle clearance.

The Gauntlet barrel is very similar to the QB barrel except the pellet loading ramp is part of the barrel on the QB whereas the Gauntlet has a magazine and single shot tray it loads from. The barrel diameter can be anything around .5". The factory barrel is .43 or so. I believe the LW blank is .47 which would be fine. The critical parts are the breech end that goes in the breech block. That needs to be turned down to the correct diameter. And the muzzle end has to be turned down enough to enable the air stripper to fit on the end. The barrel is in a shroud and nothing is close to touching the barrel. I can send an old barrel but can't give up the breech block as I"m shooting with a different barrel now.

Do your measuring making sure barrel blank to be used can make specs required to fit into receiver.
As I have done in the past with QB's ... omit the o-ring grooves which makes for a more rigid barrel and then bed it in using a light duty epoxy. This not only seals the transfer path but adds a BUNCH of rigidity to an otherwise somewhat flimsy factory barrel / receiver connection.
FWIW ... we have had a very good FT shooter here out west screwing around with a gauntlet attempting to get decent accuracy from it .... barrel swaps too and simply could NOT get the flex out of the receiver to main tube connection even with custom barrel band, tank bands and numerous other applied tricks.
I say SAVE YOUR MONEY on mods and custom machining work and shoot the gun as is spending said money on a gun / platform better suited to high accuracy.

Hey Motorhead, now that's what I call running an honest business ;).

I've never given it much consideration until now, but Scott's post gave me enough information to understand the Gauntlet/QB78 Repeater breech's problem.
There is a long lever (barrel) hanging off of a 1/4 thick by less than an inch wide piece of aluminum that by the way has a fairly large counter sunk hole right in the middle of it.....
Scott just saved me some future heartache and $$$ because now I clearly see the limitation. I own 3 of these...one of which I thought I was going to pursue converting to a slug shooter.
Thanks again for sharing more priceless insight.

Thank you very much for the response Scott. I think you just talked me into continuing my wait for the FX Dreamline to come out. :)
I have been trying to get input on FT and Extreme Benchrest use with the Gauntlet and I see now why I haven't found any. I'm going to take your advice and wait on the FX.
Did the FT shooter you mentioned try your method of epoxy on the barrel? I'm guessing the breech should have been made of steel??
I have found what I thought was a little bit of a problem with POI changing on my G from time to time. This is probably where it was coming from.
Thanks again,
Harry

I'll add another to Scott and Travis opinion. If accuracy is wanted look elsewhere!

I pinned out the gauntlet bore talk about tight! .211

There is no amount of epoxy that is going to help. A very stiff rail that bridges the gap above the magazine cutout may help, but even then nobody knows if and how much it would help.

I agree with this! Save yourself some headaches and just buy a better gun.

since OP bought a LW barrel already. save that barrel for other projects. buy a FX smooth twist barrel in .22. one can be had for less than $120 on forums. have it modded so it would shoot 34 grains around 930fps, even 800fps will be fine☺️. then run it at extreme bench rest...if you can land top 10 (extremely hard) then you can brag about it! 😆. just kidding, save your money! but then again, spend your money with the experts here. it will be worth it!
