Well...MY summer is nearly at an end (down here at about 30X90 subtrpical location)...and my co2 use might have another moth to go down here Imaybe 6 weeks) but evntually it will get cool enough in New Orleans that I just keep them indooors (until late March)...although I've sweated though a few Thnaksgivings over the years that were perfect co2 weather.

Been using this one all summer (well...later spring though summer...and into early fall if the claimte doesn't freak out and get suddenly cool). NOT THRILLING...it's a 20-25 yard practice/pest bird killing purchace, running about 5 foot pounds (although it can do more...but with 2X12gr it's worth 110+shots per fill).
Which is not quite up to the 300fpe per 12gr. that I've set as a goal...but it does manage that ever so often with the 10.3gr. pellets (which I suspect as a reuslt as not all 12gr. having actually 12gr. of co2).

it's worn a 4X acope...a 24X scope...an 18X scope....a 6X scope. If I had to pick ONE for the task, I'd buy another straight 6X. as it is, coinsidering what I alreay have, a simple 3-9X set to 6X works well.
So lets look at this, with the 10.3gr. JSB's as the "norm" (as that's what I kept it sighted in with).
There is about a 1.7-2.0 2.2 MOA shift in group centers (whicdh in this rifle seems to follow a vertical vs.weight/velocity pattern), which would make an important difference at longer range (but at 20-25 yards....hey!) (which stand for "what the fun").
SOMETHING YOU CAN ASSUME;
(which is a "switch" you should turn on with every picturte post of groups.)
I wasted 7 shots becasue I wasn't sure where it shot after a long lay off. Were "wasted" on leaves/weeds/vines, kind og gaining confidence the groups would be at least close to "on" (and wearing off those "first shot errors" that can happen).
So you can righfully assume that I did NOT have 100% confidence of the groups landing near the point of aim....missplaced s it turns out, as I never clkicked an adjustment turret nthought out thwe test.
So any way...even though there are LOTS of belivers in the uelessness of a 5 foot pound rifle at 20-25 yards...would you really pick one pellet over another?
Doesn't really make a "rats's rump" which pellet I use (so of course, usr the cheap Cromans for almost everything as that's just cost effective).
But there is "rat's rump" of USEFUL difference out to 25 yards (and justy how far would you trust a 5 foot pound air gun anyway?)
Small game hunting seaons looms around the corner, and I'm going to give up co2 on those cold days of woods-rambling, and go to PCP's with a good bit more energy (like 3-4X as much)...and in .22...seem small game mamals "give up the ghost" harder than our "feathered frinds" (besides having thicker-firmer bodies/stronger bones).
So I've been ignoring the backyard squirrels (who have been digging little craters in the back yard to burry nuts/food items all week...wich is suspect might equate to a cold winter) ...they aren't "fair game" until they confuse my attic with a "hospice".
But.....lets keep this between the internet "you" and "me".... maybe one dumb 20-25 yard summer/early fall example of an over confident squirrel meets a 5 foot pound .177 to a viatal spot?
When it does, will post the results (and cook up a tiny pot of squirrel bourguignon to hold me until the real season).
