Title: What to do with all those used pellets?
Post by: UlteriorModem on September 22, 2018, 07:07:45 PM
I re-did my pellet trap today. In doing so I cleared out ALOT of pellets. Thousands, seems like a couple of pounds worth!

How do I dispose of them safely and responsibly?

Oh and the same goes for Co2 cylinders?

Any metal recycling/scrap company should do it for you.

co2 tanks go in the scrap bin. I scrap metal every week so every little bit helps. Lead gets melted down for round ball .45. So everything gets reused.

I reuse my spent ammo for the big bore air guns and fishing sinkers. I use the carts for target practice then scrap them. Scrap metal yards will take both.

Bagged some up and added a pound to a sythetic stocked springer rifle.(Crossman tr77)
Balanced changed and felt more stable.
Still lots more pellets to use. Dave

I did the same thing recently and have probably 20-30lbs. Initially thought about casting for pellets but people seem to use pure lead for that. I will save it for now and one day to cast for big bore.
