Title: Talon 257
Post by: mann on September 15, 2018, 10:54:18 PM
I almost got my talon 257 ready to my maddog stock came today got 257 barrel and valve from Doug  . Got my emperor donnyfl the other day made some barrel bushings and put a shroud around the barrel to help stiffen it and so the emperor doesn't look so huge compared to the barrel . Need to mount my xsight and do some casting yet . It's getting there kind of been a slow process waiting for parts and getting time to put it together

If your drill press has the typical jacob taper, don't mill metal with it. The chuck can come off at high speed, and the Endmill can be very dangerous. ;)

I don't know if Doug of Mad Dog incorperated anything for the bottle brace or not. We talked about it a few years back. I learned that If P place a piece of sole leather between the rear of the bottle and stock, groups improved a great deal.

I cast a lot of bullets for the .257. some styles capable of 1/2" at 1oo yards in my Talon/Dor. 8)

Looking good mann, can’t wait to see what your numbers are, i.e size slug and weight, bottle fill pressure, FPS and finally group size at 50 and 100 yards.
