Title: My FWB 124
Post by: lizzie on July 02, 2011, 09:27:45 AM
gracious- I love it! "It" is the FWB 124 that I bought a couple of weeks ago. I finally had a chance to spend some quality time with her and I've fallen head over heels. :) It took about 5 shots to zero the scope for my eyes and style, and it's a very consistent shooter. I'm still fairly new to springers, so my skills have alot of honing needed, but I believe this rifle will be one that I hang onto for the rest of my life.  When I figure out how to post pix, I'll put a couple of them up.

I haven't ordered any JSB's yet, but I had some RWS Super H, and that's what I've shot so far. I have a tin of RWS Super Domes here somewhere- just need to find them, lol.

Beautiful gun.  You made a sweet find!  I'm glad to hear you are enjoying shooting it.  I agree with you...don't let that one go, ever!  Good luck learning to shoot it and I hope you are able to get the amazing legendary accuracy out of it that you often hear.  :D

I'm really happy with it, and frankly, I just lucked into it, although I paid more for it than I originally intended to pay for a German rifle. I had strongly considered the Diana 34, but I happened by this one quite by chance, and it was already scoped, which was a definite plus. I will have to practice alot to get my shooting up to snuff, but a ten-shot consecutive this morning was grouped in a 1 1/4" x 3/4" spot at 106 feet, so I'm not at all unhappy with that. The scope seems to be extremely sensitive to adjustment, not at all like my Leapers and Gamo.

Hope my FWB124 Sport gets here soon.  Shipping damage has delayed it
since before Memorial Day...figured it would be here by Fathers Day... Now
looks like after the 4th... :'(

My HW30S and I are just starting to come to an Arrangement, and my accuracy
is really improving....Tried so many different advices and helps....but flyers (never the
shooter ?) always haunted my sessions. Finally have settled on forearm rested on
the heel of my palm at the rifles balance point.  Heel  contact only all other parts of
my palm, hand and fingers..no contact.  Fairly loose trigger hand hold, with the
thumb resting on the top of the grip spine.   Groups are much more consistant now.
Also found that zero'd on a bench rest, is not zero'd for off-hand.

Your Deluxe stock looks really nice.... Have fun with it ...safely.

I'm starting to learn what works best for me with accuracy. I will only be shooting the gun resting, and I've been using a rolled up towel under the stock with good results so far. I think my biggest obstacle will be getting my cheek-rest consistent.

Lizzie, I think I must have found its mate.  That a 66R scope?  Nice scope and said to be made by Hakko in Japan.  For what you paid, with the scope, you got a pretty sweet deal.

I'm not sure about the scope, and I haven't been able to find much info by googling. I'm happy with the deal I got, and after shooting it, much more so.
