Wow,
Got a tin of the Field Heavies and I am amazed. Two rifles - Umarex Fusion and D34P are just putting them one on top of the other at 20 yds. Nothing else even comes close. I hope it is just not a really lucky tin.
I wish the Fusion would shoot something lighter as well as these because it seems like they are being lobbed a bit so may only be useful for bench shooting. Will have to see.

I am a match director for field target matches. That means I get to send out the match results after the match which includes equipment: rifle, scope, and pellets. After doing this for 4.5 years I have learned many things. One of them is JSB or AA Heavies are the most used pellets by far. At least for PCP rifles. In spring rifles probably JSB or AA 8.44 grain. Mixed in with that are JSB 7.87, HN FTT, CPL. Spring rifles are kind of a wild card. I have owned and have worked on/shot many RWS 34 rifles. JSB heavies do work well in some along with Barracuda Match. Most seem to shoot CPL pellets really well and since they are cheap that seems to be the most popular. HN FTT (in big head sizes) work well in 34 rifles.

Yup some times some added weight smooths up the shot cycle enough that accuracy benefits .... Not a lucky tin, just great pellets.
-
Good info, I have been shooting all of those and many more except for the JSB 7.87 and JSB heavies. None are even coming close for me the last two days.
This weekend i'll shoot some groups and post pics.

I definitely go to heavier pellets when I'm not getting what I want from lighter ones.
I know the AAs are great pellets as in other sizes and weights they shoot quite well, but my first tin of JSB .22 18.** pellets 250 count was an unlucky tin. undersized and shot like ^%#$ from my Octane Elite. A fresh tin of 500 was worlds better.
These AA heavies are printing a 5/16" hole versus dimes and nickels from the other best pellets. So happy!

Well over the weekend the AA heavies were not as great. The JSB 8.44s were better and two days ago CPUMs were almost like lasers. Surprise surprise.
Yesterday I got my first tin of JSB 7.87s (why are 7.87s so expensive?) and had only time to shoot five shots. straight from the tin, no warming up of the gun or me. At 30 yds from the bench all five went into a hole slightly oblong that cannot be more than 5/16" across. I will measure and post pic tonight.
I think I will retire that tin while I'm ahead, and just say you should see this thing shoot 7.87s.

My 34 likes H&N Baracuda Match 10.65's better than JSB or AA 10.34's.
-
Not sure if I tried them in my 34. Will tonight. Nothing else I have seems to care for them too much.

I just head sized a tin of AA and am not very happy , must be a rejected tin.. Only 5 of 500 is 4.5 most are 4.49 and 4.48.. Most will fall thruogh the pellet inspector because the skirt are also undersized.. Jsb monsters seem to have the most accurate head size and skirt size....

My 48 loves the H&N Barracuda Matches. "Groups" (if what I do with a springer could be called a group) considerably better than anything else. AA's are close though. Everything else I own: JSB's.
