Title: Where to Buy Inexpensive Brand-name Pellets?
Post by: JungleShooter on September 09, 2018, 06:33:40 AM
I just went through a slew of online stores -- in search of where I can buy inexpensive brand-name pellets.

I'm looking to buy a set of JSBs to try out.
Then I have 4 H&Ns on the list.

It's already hard to find a seller that carries them all. But more importantly, one that does charges 5 dollars higher per tin than the competition...!  >:(

Any advice where I get good prices (conus)?
Thanks!

Pyramyd Air, Airgun Depot, Trenier Outdoors. Just to name a few.
Pyramyd & AGD have the buy 3, get 1 free deal. Plus they have a 10% discount if you use the code GATEWAY-PYRAMYD.

Plus on top of the buy 3, get 4th free offer from Pyramydair and AGD... You can not beat their packaging. They are packed in a thick closed cell foam square with a cut-out circle the size of the tin that fits in the box perfectly.
You can find the same tins cheaper on amazon sometimes, but they will throw them in a box loose with one "packing pillow" and be beat to smithereens when you get them.

Scott makes another very important point that I forgot to mention. Packaging for shipping. Especially since it would be going all the way to Peru. Even if you find a great deal on pellets, if they don't arrive intact, it's not a good deal anymore.

I completely agree with the above. I have seen pellets from other vendors arrive in horrible condition.

Thanks, guys.  Trenier Outdoors is completely unknown to me, despite some extensive searching -- never came up on Google in the first 100 hits or so....

The packaging I have never thought of, but of course...!

I usually buy JSB from Trenier, and H&N from Field Supply.  However, I'm not sure I'd trust Field Supply packing for a transcontinental shipment.

The thing I don't like about Pyramyd is that they jack up their single tin prices to make up for the buy 3 get 1 deal,  but if I want to buy 4 tins of $20 pellets and 1 tin of $7 pellets, it's the $7 pellets that are free, and they charge full price for the 4th $20 tin.

Good luck!

I've also bought from Field Supply, Trenier, and PyramydAir.   PA policys aren't always smack you in the face obvious but they are clear if you take the time to read what is presented.  Trenier has good values and does package well in general but PA is IMO better in this regard.  I've seen a little better cost from Trenier at times but I almost always use PA.
