Title: Max Pressure question for Vevor commpressor?
Post by: Fly on September 05, 2018, 01:54:04 PM
I think I have my Vevor compressor lined out, (I Think ?) . Ok my biggest problem was it kicking off to soon. Hollow point suggested
updating the pressure safety switch to 15 amp. WORKED! I,m just filling my Hatsan Flash to 3000 psi. But we know this compressor
is rated to 4500 psi. Now it comes with a test plug to check it out. I,m kind of gun shy even thow I do not need that much pressure.

I only have one extra blow out disk that came with it. But I put the pressure testing plug in it to see if it indeed pumped up to 4500 psi.
I turned on the compressor with the plug in the fill line. Closed the valve & the pressure climbed fast to 3300 psi then just seemed to
stop. I released pressure in the line & turned it off. Question to you guys that know. Is it normal for it to do that when it hits higher pressure? I,m thinking
if I would have not stopped & the compressor may have continued to clime slowly to the 4500 psi. With only one blow out disk I did not want
to chance it. I assume E-bay has extra blow out disk. Your thought Please.

Yes blow out discs are cheap on ebay. If pressure won't build above 3200 psi upper head assy may need cleaned, there's a video on youtube about this on this brand. It was mentioned in another thread here.

Could also be a tiny leak somewhere. I've had that happen before. Fixed the leak and it pumped right up.

You guys are Sooooooooooooooooo Smart. I had a air leak under the gage where it screws in. I pulled the gage & it had a Teflon washer
in the bottom. I then put some Teflon tap on the theads being carful to not let any off lap over the threads. pumped her up & was still
getting a small leak. I then pulled the gage & found another washer in the bag that comes with it. Screwed it down, & still a very small
leak. It was seating against that those washer but I did not want to tighten it any more. So I put put a new strip of tape on the threads.
Success !!!!!!!. Can those Teflon washers be bought some were???? If not I can buy a stick of Teflon rod & make some in my lathe, but I
would whether buy them & extra o rings exc.

Most things can be found and purchased through aliexpress but it may come in a bundle of other parts you don't need yet. Sometimes you just have to spend some time searching through different vendors.

you can fabricate them washers, now you can tighten the gauge a bit, to have it seal without the tape, better check also the teflon washer on the output side, be sure that the hole in the middle did not shrink from tightening,,
