Title: Wabbit hunting
Post by: screwwork on September 03, 2018, 01:49:29 AM
It has been a while since I posted any hunting. So here we go down the wabbit hole.
I left the house at o-dark-30 to be at the hunting grounds before daylight, I arrived about 20 minutes before legal shooting time. ,
Got set up next to the brush line, today I was shooting the .22 cal Prod with the PP700 as a dispatch gun if needed.
First up, wabbit at 12 yards, it got the .177 PP700 w/reddot and it drew its first blood! It came out of the brush facing away and didn't see it coming. DRT! The next three wabbts were shot from ranges of 20 to 50 yards. Nice day out hunting for sure. The weather was nice in the low 50's and got up to 80's before I left.

Great idea with the back up pistol for close range stuff.
I've been lusting over a PP700, using your idea I may go ahead and get one. :)

Thanks
Ray

Thanks guys!
I like to have a pistol out hunting/shooting with me at all times. You never know when something will pop out of the bushes at close range.
Yesterday was like N. Woods law but Cali vers of the show, (Deer season) I meet the clubs property mgr, saw the Sherriff, Park Ranger & DF&G officer on the road while I was staking rabbits. The DF&G officer stopped at my Jeep and was waiting for me,  wow is all I can say.. If someone said a Lady officer was going to stop me  and check me out, I would put clean clothes, combed my hair etc. She was very nice, professional, checked my license and guns out and was on her way. She said the pigs were running around a lot. Another deer hunter saw pigs on the property next to where we were hunting at. Pigs up to 200lbs he said.. Next time I'll have a PB'er with me for a pig.

Oh, I forgot to add pellet info...
.177, H&N Barracuda's 10.65
.22, JSB's 18.0gr. They are like lasers out of the HH barrel. Back-ups are Polymags, they are hammers for rabbit, g-squirrels/birds out to 40 yards.
