Irrespective of spring v. pumper v. pcp, any type. Not necessarily what forum folks buy, but including general public and yeeh-who and bubba. Im guessing a Gamo of some sort, maybe the varmint? Crosman nitro- something?

It's the Daisy red Ryder, no question.
Airguns are still " bb guns " to most folks , and are for kids.

Be interesting to really know. First one that comes to my mind would be the Daisy 880. But then I start thinking about it and consider how long others like the model 25 and Red Ryder have been around. Then my mind goes to the Crosman 1377. And who can forget the Marksman pistol?

I'm thinking the "Red Ryder" just because it's most people's first gun as a youth. Possibly the 760 Pumpmaster?

+1 to Red Ryder and 760. I had both as a youngster and still have a Red Ryder somewhere in the shop for dispatching mice.

Honestly I've never even seen a Red Ryder outside of a Christmas Story.
Seems like around here Daisy 880s are the most ubiquitous. I don't think I knew a kid that didn't have an 880 growing up.
But I do know that between the Daisy Red Ryder, 880 and the Crosman 760 and 2100, that one of those is the best selling.

What sells the most NOW DAYS and what sold best YEARS PAST is vastly different.
Go back 30 years or more and likely Crosman 760's or 1377 type Pump Stroke guns .... Benjamins and Sheridans all being PRE-CHINA invasion :P

You're not wrong, but for the consumer, the things are disposable, so those aren't going to be influential features.
CO2 is popular with the kiddo's, though in the 'burbs I'd say airsoft has taken a big chunk of the market.

Amazon lists them as:

Other dealers probably have other top sellers and, of course, neither lists includes pistols. of which I would guess that 1377/1322 and 2240 are near the top.

I would think it has to be 13xx 2240 series. I see more folks with those even if they have something else too

Interesting. Other than the Amazon/Pyramid lists, none of the suggestions are in the 1200 fps range. Wish I knew what sells most at Walmart, as LTU suggested.

At Walmart, my bet would be on the Daisy, and a BB gun. A lot of parents buy their kids toys at WM, and BB guns are generally considered toys by a lot of people.

At yard sales,IF I find anything,it's usually an old worn out Crosman 760. ;)

All my friends either had a 880, 760, or the crosman 766, which I also had. Which is now the 2100. But my favorite gun I had at the time was the daisy power line 922. Which was the .22 version of the 880. Don’t see many of those anymore!

I asked one of the Crosman guys what was their best selling guns and he said the 760 and always has been.

This. It's the old air-cooled VW Beetle or perhaps in modern terms the F-150 of airguns. Not the prettiest or best by far... and certainly made FAR cheaper than it once was... But I'll say this about even the modern 760 pumpers: slip a rifled barrel from the MK-177 Crosman in one, give it a crown job, and be prepared for grin-inducing accuracy DESPITE the horrible clamshell flexing.

Perhaps I missed it, but I haven't seen mention of the Daisy model 25. I see more of those at flea markets and garage sales than anything else.
And like the ad says - "Everything for back to school"

I would have thought one of those B's and a D 34. Every time someone ask about buying a B3 a dozen people say save your money and get a 34. I've got three Dianas and i've had ten or eleven B3's.

If that's the case then something to consider..
I think we ( the online airgun community ) only represent a small portion of the airgun consumer. I would think most sales are from big box stores for "little Tommy". I don't remember ever seeing a D34 at Walmart.... maybe at Cabelas or Bass Pro.
That in mind, my guess would be the Red Ryder.

Ruger impact is the only one on the walmart shelf that I have never seen on clearance. I think it may be #1 for springers. I would bet the daisy 880 is numero uno for pumpers, and the red ryder #1 for bb guns, probably a co2 model for pistols. Have no idea how the four compare to one another. I could be wrong, might be something tacticool on top. You'd think the gamo repeater would be catching up though.

I recently had a convo @ Walmart with a dad looking for an air rifle for his son, his comment was he will probably want something like this, pointing at a Bear River Sportsman 900, I assured him it was a decent pumper easy to pump , and that the daisy next to it with plastic wood was just as good.
