I had a D48 in .177. Had Rob Hawkins tune it. Trigger was great and shot beeman fts a 905 avg. Shot it in FT for about 6 months. Got "talked into" a HW 97. Sold the 48. Somehow it felt wrong to not have it. It was compact, powerful, it's true that the trigger wasn't as perfect as the Rekord, but Rob made it preeety close. The only thing that felt odd was the amount of power for the FT game. At that time "more power" seemed about right! Ahh being new.
So I went out and bought a new D48, this time in the proper caliber imo: .22. Man I love this rifle. It is smooth and shoots like it already has a tune at 21 ft lbs with JSB pellets. It also loves cheap Crosman HP pellets, at least out to 25 yards where the extent of my Racoon, Rat, and Zombie problems are.
I don't think I will ever sell this rifle. I even think I might prefer this over the Diana 54 version I have shot a few times (I'm a lefty so this stock is much better). The movement of the action on the 54 kind of makes me think that it will be more difficult to keep in good shape.
I have just ordered a marauder to fill my "power needs". But even so, I ain't giving up the D48..

I agree I like my 48 better than the 2 54's I had! I sold the 54's and kept the 48 they were all .22cals! :P

and that is funny, i guess i got 2 zombie guns... my Ak74 for big zombies, and my bsa supersport in .22 for pest zombies...lol

Thats a nice looking gun you got. Have always liked te look ofthe 48's.
And my zombie slayers are my 22 350 and a toss up between my benelli m-4 or my psl. Depends on range. ;)

Congrats on the new 48. One of these days I'm going to have to get me another one. But I want the next one to be a 22 cal. like yours. As good as my 177 is at hunting squirrels and such, I can only imagine how much fun it will be with a 48 in 22cal.
