Probably best to PM a mod about your question; rather than post it on the open board...

Thanks

1) Belonged in the Buyer, Sellers & Traders Gate IF it is posted at all. It should have been simply handled between the member and PA, not on public forum.
2) Personal attacks......NOT allowed!!!!
3) Only FACTS about a transaction. Not personal opinion or slanderous remarks.
Remember, this is GTA Forums. When you post here you actually represent every member here. Even though you may be frustrated, don't represent GTA by posting personal attacks.
-
Gotch!!
It was a little harsh.
-
I didn't read anything I would consider "harsh". Read it twice & it seems to the point, without any bashing. If the recount of the transaction is "harsh", well maybe there is a definite problem.

If I offended anyone I apologize. I spoke with PA and they said that my Thursday order was not shipped because there was a problem with the date of my credit card. It is possible that I could have entered the date wrong. If so it would be the first time, but it is still entirely within the realm of possibility. I am less than perfect. Just ask my wife. It would be the first time because these https online systems are designed to reject orders unless all of the information is correct. It has been my experience ordering online with any company that if anything is incorrect in any of the credit card fields then the https secure billing page will alert you that there is a problem with the card info and usually identify what the problem is. You do not get an order confirmation without everything on the billing page being correct. The order does not go through. How then did I get an order confirmation at 3:59pm on 8/23 from PA that read Your order 7335XXX has been confirmed if there was a problem with my credit card date? It would have been rejected. Fraud protection features of these systems require it.
This is not the first time. I have a re-occurring issue this last year with PA sending me emails stating that there was an issue with my credit card and to call them. Wanting them to ship my order I call them. The person that I talk to usually says something like, "No, everything is okay, we got it straightened out. Your order will ship today." Not once any of those times was there ever a problem with my credit card. I seldom go over 25% of my available balance and I pay the statement balance every month. This has happened so often in my orders that I almost expect it now. So I have come to expect that I must babysit my PA orders. I don't have time for that. Don't need one more thing on my plate.
Simply stated, Pyramyd Air does not offer the online shopping experience that I want to have. I will take my business elsewhere in the future. I hope the above did not offend anyone's sensibilities. I wish PA only the best going forward.
-
Tony I’m with you. Last month I placed an order and paid extra for two day shipping. My order took two business days longer than the order from the week prior using standard shipping. I called them and they were no help, never again.
-
I have had the same exact experience with PA. Too bad to as I bought most of my pellets from them. No longer, I don't even check their site any longer.
-
I'm sure PA is just like any other mail order company, where there are software glitches and human errors do often occur. But a good business will be forthcoming and not BS the customer. That said, I have yet to have a single ordering issue with PA. Every order has been perfect and came in a timely manner.
-
I personally have had most excellent results from my PA orders. Nobody packs ammo as well as they do. And once you apply the 4 for 3 and the GTA discount, it's really hard to beat.
So be it...but I bet there are FAR more members that can post positive feedback than negative. But this isn't going to turn into a competition and definitely not a flaming thread.
:)
I'm just trying to show positive support for a GTA sanctioned vendor that supports this forum and the community better than anyone else that I know of.
-
Same here. I have made more air gun related orders from PA by far than any other single vendor and have never had an issue with any of them. Ammo is always excellently packed and shipping has always been prompt. Not saying problems can't happen but I haven't experienced it and will continue to purchase from them.
-
In the five years I have done business with Pyramyd Air, I have NEVER had a bad experience.
-
To start off, I always use PA for my pellet orders and other trinkets and I trust them with my internet orders. Seriously... I think they are great.
This comment or question is not to start a wet!ing match or being called the bad guy... Please understand that. It's just to get an understanding.
So,
My question is ( to a moderator of a sanctioned vendor- and you guys do a great job!!!!) , Do the moderators bring these topics up with the vendors and try to resolve the issue or bring this issue up with the vendor so that the vendor knows whats going on with the complainant?
The only reason for me asking is that I ordered a 22 Prod mag and did not receive it (even though I was charged). I had to call and supposedly it got lost. It took nearly 6 weeks to receive it.
No big deal for me but, I was just curious how the moderators and vendors work together when there's a topic of discrepancy.
I know Iam gonna get Hel7 for asking but, one day I would like to be a sanctioned vendor here on GTA because I think it's the best forum for us airgun guys and gals.
I just don't know how it's handled between the vendor and GTA.
-
While PA is a sanctioned vendor, l don't see a PA customer sale's issue being any GTA moderators problem. If PA was habitually ripping members off, then I see a cause for the moderators to step in.
-
One thing I have as a rule is all communication pertaining to GTA sanctioned vendors are handle by me personally. And no, it is NOT anything to do with status or power. I just want to make certain there are no abuses of this relationship and that it follows a protocol. Yes, I trust all of the staff. But I also want consistency in anything pertaining to vendors. I feel it the best practice is to keep one constant contact line.
With that said, ANY time I see an issue on GTA forums (even with some NON sanctioned vendors) I will alert them to an issue and ask them to step in. It's tough when the vendor is not a GTA sanctioned vendor because their presence is not really expected or required. But the sanctioned vendors have a "gate" and agree to be active on GTA Forums. PA is absolutely one of the best in customer service, especially for GTA Forums. They have a VERY active presence here and immediately address any issue they are made aware of. Other channels may fail but contact through this forum has rarely if ever failed.
There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that the general membership never sees and really shouldn't worry about. Several give a LOT of their time to make things work here for you.
-
I think your a great moderator for GTA Dez.
Keep up the great work. Your one of the reasons why I like GTA so much.

I think we all Have A Right to Know about Crappy Vendors and be Able to WEED THEM OUT!!!!!!! And Yes This is in Fact About POWER!!! Yourself and Your Cronies!!! THIS Statement IS A JOKE RIGHT!!!!!! {One thing I have as a rule is all communication pertaining to GTA sanctioned vendors are handle by me personally. And no, it is NOT anything to do with status or power.} With-Out Members You Would Not have a Forum!!!!!! You Need to Remember that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I guess I've forgotten that the members make the forum. Thanks for the reminder. Oh, all staff are members too by the way. First and foremost. LOL
But I guess the power just went to my head and blocked my senses.
Have a wonderful day.
-
wow!!!! Dang Dez what did you do. David
-
Hey pee-cor you wizzed all over this forum in a gta bashing thread... so I ask why are you still here...you stated you can't stand it here... so here is my take... BYE....
-
+1. Pecor was totally out of line here. Administration was right and I don't often agree with administration of most sites.
-
I'll have to go along with Dez but I will say his response was much more reasonable than mine would have been. I thought Pecor was way out of line on that one.
-
What a gracious response.

Didn't take long for this thread to go off topic. Seems it's happening alot more often these days. One person says something stupid and away it goes. Too many people willing to fuel the fire. 😞

I have not used an Athlon scope but IMO, if I had $1800 to buy a scope I wouldn't get an Athlon. Not that it is a bad scope but why not buy something like March, Zeiss or Nightforce? Maybe you have already researched these and saw none that you liked but it just seems for that much money there has to be a solid option with a proven track record (again, not that the Cronus doesn't have one).

I think the GTA moderators do a great job. I think PA is good at what they do and genuinely try to add value to our hobby. I think Tyler cares about our hobby and was honest about the fortitude.
I am often guilty of going off topic.
I do think the whole preorder the unproven airgun is kind of crazy.

Terry, Unfortunately there are way more members than Moderators on the forum and the entire moderation and admin team are unpaid volunteers. Trust me when I tell you that even when we are on line observing things can go sideways faster than you realize. Add to that the fact that although individual moderators may have one or two gates that we oversee sometimes we may be looking elsewhere on the forum when a member gets unpleasant with a response. Usually we respond to problems fairly quickly other times there will be several bad posts made on a thread before we can intervene and address the issue.
As far as fueling the fire is concerned for many of the members this is like a second home away from home and as such many with short fuses will respond to the offending post harshly. When I see that I will lock the thread and boot the problem upstairs to the Administrators for review and intervention even if I am not the assigned moderator on the gate. Keeping this forum the best AG forum on the internet is not an easy job and at times it is a thankless one.

I'm sure it wasn't your intent to say that we would be a better forum if there were more mods and admins than members.
I'm guilty of going WAY off topic ALOT but I try to be respectful of others. I've received way more from this forum than I'll ever be able to give back. If there were no rules... well, can you just imagine?
And without anyone to "implement" those rules....... ???

Actually my intent was just to point out that when a thread goes south even with the assigned moderator active on the forum at the time all it takes is three or four minutes for several nasty posts to appear on a particular thread before a moderator can step in and take appropriate action. As far as needing more moderators to control things as long as the active members flag the offending posts we will remain the best air gun forum in the internet. We are all members and as such we are all responsible for keeping this the great place that it is. ;D ;D
-
Yep, each and every member has an obligation to keep the forum positive.
-
Actually, we should ALL be moderators and administrators to our forum. I would hope all members feel a part of what they are helping grow and would want to see it stay as positive as I do. But I can wish in one hand and do something else in the other. And see which one fills up quicker. The forum is what the members make it. The all volunteer NONPAID staff step up and give of our time because we are dedicated to keeping it going in the right direction. We're still growing by 10-20 new members each and every day so 1) we must be doing something right and 2) it makes it increasingly harder to satisfy everyone. But we will not stop trying. But for some, even all of our effort is not enough. They have to slam and slander us with BS trash and statements here and on other forums. I will not venture away from here to rebut these garbage statements. But you can bet the negative junk will be handled here to prevent the atmosphere from becoming tainted with that trash.
Now, I'm back to reading the positive input from our fellow family members. Thank you all for keeping your forum positive and a great place to be. And if that statement is too "vanilla" or dull for you, I suggest you go elsewhere to find the drama you seek.

That is more like the DEz that I know. Well said, my friend!
