:o :'( >:(...Maybe not so new but new to me. RE: Gauntlet 22 cal... I have two leaking HPA bottles, one orig Ninja, one after market with cheap pin valve...both will leak down from full 3000 psi charge in about 8 hours.
Is this par for the course or "normal" and is there a simple "fix"???????
I read some yootubes that seemed to indicate this was happening in paintball co2 bottles and an "on/off" valve was one cure so I ordered a cheepy from China and I am sending the Ninja bottle back to Umarex. I did buy some "o"rings also and have downloaded a bunch of vids from Hajimoto amd others on rebuilding, etc.
Hand pumping those bottles is a total PITA especially for a 77 year old fat boy with a bad back so I bought a Nomad compressor which pumps up the "big bottle" in about 10 min.
Any help, observations, experiences, corrections, soulutions or directions to to the same will be highly appreciated.
Been shooting pellet guns for 60 odd years but this is my first PCP and I'm basically dumb as a post and have my nose in the ether trying to get an old dog to learn "anything" new.
Thanks

Are the tanks under warranty? They must have a bad seal/o-ring but they should be repaired by a Scuba or Paintball shop that have trained or certified people to do it, or a place that does hydro-testing. Now that you have a compressor you should get an 80cu.ft Scuba tank or an 88cu.ft 4,500 tank for many more refills than the little tanks.
Moved to the Support Equipment for PCP/HPA Gate.

You don't say where they are leaking from? Remember that any moisture getting into the tanks can cause corrosion, and particles can get into valve seals and cause leaks.

OEM Ninja Unarex Gauntlet tank, new - only filled 3-4 times using new Nomad compressort...same with the longer bulk tank. I can hear leaking in/around the bottle mounting block...soapy water didn't show anything...sounds the air is going into the pressure tube.
I replaced the outer O rings but that didn't help...I like in the boonies of Oregon...ain't no fancy places doing the "normal" thingys.
A "buddy bottle" is on the list...I already have a similar setup for CO2 which I was using before acquiring the compressor. CO2 is OK for close in at 625 fs, but a 200 fs difference with HPA does make a difference out past 30-35 yds.
The UX Gauntlet is still under warranty so I think I will just send the whole rifle in and hope for the best.

Sounds like it might be leaking out through the gun, rather than being a tank leak. If it's leaking, the soapy awater has to make bubbles somewhere.

If it sounds like air is going into the pressure tube, probably Not the Bottle.
Might want to look elsewhere before blaming the bottles. ;)

Leaking into the pressure tube was my thinking also, Michael, at least that was where the sound seemed to be coming from...the two bottles didn't loose any air when pumped to 3K psi and left sitting for several days. I hope UX will fix it...will know in about two weeks.
I'm looking into a 25 cal...something in the $300-800.00 range. I might spend $1200-2000 on a fancy scope but NOT on a <50 yd air gun, I have way to many powder guns for the longer ranges and the Gauntlet does a good job accuracy wise and kill wise out there for the few ratz I got before things went sideways.
I'm looking at the Umarex Gauntlet, Hatsan Nova, Kral Puncher Jumbo and AirForce Condor SS. There seems to be more problems with the Nova and Puncher than the AirForce.
My eyes are bloody from reading and watching "U"-toobs trying to cut to the chase.
The Nova and AirForce produce the highest velos, Kral, then the Gauntlet, but the Gauntlet isn't producing many shots/fill nor velo from what I've read...the Gauntlet 22 actually produces much better ballistics and the AirForce can produce up to 105 ftlbs with a different hat kit.
Michael, anyone...any thoughts, experience, etc.
Thanks

Here's a good $300 .25 pcp:

It looks like the last one left. ;)

Have a question about that BSA. That is a very nice looking rifle. I was looking over the Spec,s & they show .22 at 1000 fps & .22 & silencer at 800 fps.
Would a silencer lower the .22 by 200 fps?
