Title: Looking for .22 or .25 Air Pistol Revolver
Post by: Aznman on August 24, 2018, 12:15:38 PM
There are only .177 caliber revolvers out there it appears. See Crosman Vigilante below as an example.

But why not .22 and .25? I know that air revolvers tend to be weaker than rifles, so the .177 is used in order to remain at greater than 300 fps. However, I am only interested plinking with a revolver action with the calibers that I already have.
How expensive are the custom made .22 or .25 air (CO2) revolvers?

On the used market there’s the 38t, 38c and SA6. Got two of them, myself.
Haven’t seen much new

You wont be disappointed. The 38C/T revolvers......in .22..... are a favorite of mine. I prefer the first var...... all metal sights and cylinder ones and I prefer the 38T......I just like the balance better. Feels and looks like the real thing. Easy to work on if it comes up leaking. Pretty accurate plinker and a very decent trigger. If yours is a leaker, I can offer some advice on getting her back up and shooting. Good luck!

I’m on board with the idea.

Would be cool to see a Vigilante in .22 matching a 2240 in accuracy and power.

What will it do speedwise? Can they be souped up, or does the cylinder gap make it a pointless effort?

totally agreed.. the best mod for these pistols, from what ive seen has been longer barrels.. I converted a vigilante to hpa.. getting those valves to perform is tough

You can expect high 300's. I have five of the 38T's in .22. They all do about 380 fps or so. I'm not sure that trying to mod them to shoot harder is worth it. That's from a guy who doesn't really go in for modding though. There is that gap to contend with but beyond that it's just a cool looking and feeling plinker. Does it need to be anything more?

Doesn’t need to be, I just think it would be a cool 15-20yd pigeon gun with a little more pep.

I’ve had a couple guns that were just plinkers, they have their place.
