I have a .25 veteran and love that thing. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with your purchase.

Ray, didn't you just get a .25 standard Veteran?  Guessing you were pleased with the quality if you went for another  :D

Congrats on another sweet gun!

I did!  Actually the .25 was purchased in a moment of...Taipan weakness.  Motorhead had described the .22 Taipan in a thread on here as being very accurate, or scary accurate, I forget which.  But his description was the last straw for a man already on the fence. So I had been talking to Matt and waiting for a .22 Veteran Standard for a couple of months to come into stock, but it seemed like it just was not going to happen any time soon.  So I got the last .25 Standard.   While I was giving Matt my card info over the phone I happen to ask if he had ever heard of the mythical veteran long that was rumored to exist.  He said that they had some longs on order, but didn't know when they would be in.  I told him right then to call me for my card info the day they came in.  They came in yesterday.  True to his word he called me as soon as the delivery guy left.  I reconcile the purchase of a second Taipan this way...I use to fish, hunt, fish, race and fish obsessive/compulsively.  Not anymore.  Now I am a full-time caregiver to my 95 year old father who has the onset of vascular dementia.  And I do it gladly.  He is the second finest man to ever walk the face of the earth.  And he gave me so much of his time.  So I am blessed that I get to give back and spend quality time with him, stay home and keep all that discretionary income.  When you only stay home, you got money to buy two Taipans! And time to shoot them!

Count me among the group of very satisfied Taipan owners.

Good stuff and yes we should all cherish the time we get to spend with our loved ones thanks for sharing!  Looking forward to hearing more about the Veteran Long.  I remember it being mentioned a long time ago when the Veteran first arrived but like a .177 Veteran I figured it would never happen.  Have you seen it yet?  I am wondering if they styled the stock differently or just lengthened the fore end to fit the long air tube.

Oh, and Motorhead is partially to blame for my first Taipan as well (Dairyboy is just as guilty).  Just don't expect anyone here to try and talk you out of buying a new airgun!  Enablers...

Motorhead and Dairyboy have both figured large in my airgun addiction.  Dairyboy's .20 Marauder was too much of a gateway airgun.  With his kind assistance I just couldn't fight the urge.  I had to have one too.  Motorhead tuned it and showed me what a well-tuned .20 SynRod could do.  And that made the addiction worse.  Tonight I am putting a new Jim Gaska-machined HW barrel on the SynRod.  Kudos to Motorhead for pointing me in the right direction!

+1  And I have never once regretted being led down the Taipan road!
