Title: Marauder gets a set back trigger blade ... Billet, well not really billet ?
Post by: Motorhead on August 05, 2018, 03:02:28 PM
Billet if you consider making a part from solid stock that IS NOT METAL ???
How about PEEK sheet for being a bit different and having the finished product super light weight and darn near unbreakable.

Started by having a sheet of 1/4" thick PEEK that i picked up cheap in a plastics salvage bin.  Traced out the OEM blade shape and then started fooling with shape changes coming up with whats shown.
Cut out on the band saw and rough finished with the 1' belt sander, then files and sand paper ... Turned out OK  ;D

Biggest issue with doing a set back type profile is the access to the adjustment screws behind the blade. * I had to place a channel into the back of blade to access the one screw, but doing so did not weaken it or allow any flex ... Still rock solid & stiff.

Anywho ... a day in the shop fooling around doing one off projects  ;)
