I am looking for recommendations of scopes to go on my BSA R10 SE.
I have always likened the quality of glass and build in ZEISS products.
Looking forward to get some recommendations on Zeiss models that are appropriate for air rifles and pros and cons.

Zeiss make great scopes, but they are intended for powder burner and the parallax is setted accordly to this.
They make adjustable parallax models too, don't know the minimum focus distance and they cost over 1000 bucks at least (Zeiss Conquest V4)
On an airgun you can have comparable results and flexibility with a quarter or less the cost of a Zeiss scope, just my opinion.

Was planning to buy a Zeiss for my custom 10/22 but the parallax was from 50 to infinity.
They are very very nice scopes though, I was able to check one out at the range.

I have air gun scopes on my air guns for all the above noted reasons. Zeiss scopes have a great reputation but they are not designed for air guns.

Thank you for the input guys.

My 4.5x14x50mm German/American built Zeiss Conquest will adjust down to 15 yards on low power. Low light transmission is fantastic!
Mills at 14X.
I really enjoy the FFP AThlon Argos. Will focus to 7 yards, very nice optics.

do you have a link for the particular model.
If i am reading this right, you are using the zeiss scope on air gun??

It is clear from 15 to 20 yards at the lowest power setting but the parallax adjuster I believe is still 50 to infinity..It is akin to my Burris Droptine which is pretty clear at that range too when in lower power mode.

No Sir, it is free at 25 yards. Just have to use your skills to keep eye center at the very short ranges. Not much deviation at such short ranges any way.
The higher power version is free at 50 yards. Reason I didn't go with it.

An SWFA scope is also a good optic. I dunno if they still have the sfp 3-15x42 model..I got the fixed 20x moa reticle for my custom 10/22. Very fine center dot and the scope does not look big due to its 42mm bell. It would look good on your fine English rifle.
The Bushnell Engage has also very fine hash marks for precision shooting. I have their 4-12x40 side focus and it will focus down to 10 yards. You might do better with their 18x version. They are made in South Korea. Very nice finish too and not expensive. 6

Thanks for the elucidation, Mr. Michael.

I have heard many good reviews about the Athlon scopes. I also do love the SWFA scopes. I use the fixed 10x(moa quad reticle) on my airgun. I would love to get my paws on their 3-15 FFP, and it has a 6M to infinity parallax adjustment. I would like to get the 5-20 HD, but it's parallax only goes down to 35 yards I think.
