1. Clear Cache.
2. If that doesn't work, Clear your Cookie for GTA.
Restart your browser, and maybe even restart computer. Then login, and you should be good to go.

No go same problem on home computer will try work computer on Friday. Weird thing is every other website works fine except this one.

I'd try another browser. Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi are good choices.
-
No go with chrome or Any other browsers but once again only GTA
-
I can only access site via IPhone and then that’s hit or miss but much more likely. I just don’t understand why any and all websites work great except this one.
-
Must be a conspiracy. Running fantastic here for me.

:)
That’s not helping !!as I try to type on my phone screen.
-
Well...sorry. Move to TN.
LOL
Try rebooting your modem & router.
-
I'll sympathize but can't offer help as I run into the same situation from time to time - and yes, other sites may work fine. Today GTA is working very quickly for me. Sometimes the waits are long enough I get timeout errors. I know I have issues with my provider and service but if all other sites load normally I don't think that's the problem.
Be patient, it seems to go through cycles or phases or something. I don't even know if it's GTA specifically or just how the internet works in some of the more back woodsy areas of TN or where ever their server farm is located. Tin cans and strings do have limits you know.
-
Still stuck with phone as long as I’m not on same network as computer (WiFi) Tried every trick in the book and watched every YouTube video I could find and still can’t get GTA to come up. So Weird
-
Maybe it's waiting for something to be delivered from JSAR.. ;)
Just kidding, of coarse, Travis, you guys are great !!

Check your hosts file to make sure you don't have a stale, static IP address associated with the dns name.
https://support.rackspace.com/how-to/modify-your-hosts-file/
The fact that the behavior is limited to a specific device indicates that some parameter within that device is suspect.

It’s not a specific device it’s either my modem or dsl provider I can use my phone like now but not if I use the same WiFi network as my home computer. I’ve rebooted the modem flushed the DNS and everything I can think of but it won’t let any device on my home network get on the GTA and the GTA only. Boggling

Next step is to try a VPN from home, and silently route past your ISP so your page request will 'originate' from somewhere other than your mode/house/isp.
I use NordVPN for some stuff, its pretty fast and cheap, but there are free ones you could try just to test with. Might be your ISP blocking you, or you could somehow have gotten your home's ip address blacklisted on GTA somehow.

-
Really seems like more of an ISP or regional thing. I am having absolutely no issues loading the forum up. I use Charter and 60MB network at home. But I spend 75% of my time on GTA from my work connection. Totally different network and provider. Much slower connection speed and much more traffic on my network here. But the forum pages still load extremely fast for me. Sometimes, but not very often, I get a strange screen and have to reset my page. But not very often.
Just in case, I have submitted a ticket with our host to see if there is anything they can do to test and for them to do maintenance on our connection. And I asked them to dive in and see if there is some routine maintenance I can do that I should be doing. Will keep looking.
-

Y
Nope...any person or IP address blacklisted on GTA will get a message telling them they are banned.
:)
-
Any advice would be appreciated I’m out of ideas and phones about to die so back on the charger it goes.
-
Had tech support tweak the connection timeout and they said there were also some software changes awaiting a reboot to apply. I had them reboot the server. Let me know if any of this helps. I'm going to put the forum in maintenance mode and try some cleanup routines to see if any of this helps also.

Travis
Perform a DNS lookup on the domain.
Open a command prompt (this varies on different windows systems)
Type:
nslookup www.gatewaytoairguns.org (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org)
You should get the following response:
Server: UnKnown
Address: 2605:a601:716:6c00::1
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: gatewaytoairguns.org
Address: 108.160.150.122
Aliases: www.gatewaytoairguns.org (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org)
If the Address shows a different IP than 108.160.150.122, type the command again, except add " 8.8.8.8" at the end:
nslookup www.gatewaytoairguns.org (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org) 8.8.8.8
to use google's dns server instead of your ISP. See if that resolves to the correct IP address.

That all checked out ok. Must be something simple I’m missing

Travis,
If using windows check you internet properties at control panel/internet properties/connections/lan settings all three check boxes should be unchecked.
All browser will check these internet settings by default.
If you see something filled in under proxy it may have been configured by malware to re route your traffic.
Next I would open an administrator command prompt and type in ipconfig /flushdns that will get rid of any cached dns entries
I wouldn't use a vpn software to anonymize your connection because when I first experimented with one for using my laptop at public hotspots I got a message that I was banned when I tried to access the GTA website.
If I think of anything else I'll post it.
I have noticed another issue today. I can't get into my GTA messages. It said to contact the administrator if it happens. How do I do that if the message system is down? ;D So I'll ask here! ;D
Thanks,
Taso
-
Yep, "My Messages" is down. It's showing a database error. I did get a timeout error earlier when trying to connect to the GTA, probably during the reboot?
-
Totally different issue but that's fixed.
:)
-
Mine did it too but I just figure DeZ was in there poking around. Sure wish I had as much free time as he does to goof off. 8)
-
Still haven’t found the problem so frustrating
-
If you haven't done so already, I would go into your router and reset the firewall to default. There should be an option for that.
-

Travis.. are you married? I know Betty Lou is crafty and this sounds like some of her doings.

I reset it to factory settings no go. It’s not my home computer it’s my network I’m using a Arris DG2460 cable modem/router and I’ve tried everything but it will not allow me on ONLY this website
-
I’ve turned off the firewall and all settings still no go what could possibly be still blocking me?
-
Open a terminal and type the following command:
traceroute www.gatewaytoairguns.org (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org)
Traceroute should detail each hop your request jumps through, and can sometimes indicate where in the path a packet is getting blocked. Doesn't always work great with NAT traversal and some other modern networking technologies, but its worth a shot.
Travis, if you want to, we can set up a remote desktop session through teamviewer or something, and have one of the computer experts look at your pc and network directly. I would be happy to spend a few minutes with it if you want to do that. Send me a PM if you do.

When you say open a terminal do you mean under CMD?
-
Ok ran tracert cmd not sure what I’m looking for but it’s there.
-
Here’s what I got
-
The attention to connect to GTA on my home network using any means always results in a time out error
-
The quality of the snapshot is not good enough for me to read the details but you are getting a timeout at ping #2 just getting to your ISP. From my location there were 22 hops to hit our GTA server. But the fact that the URL actually resolved to an IP address in your CMD window tells me it is seeing the end. Or it knows where it's headed anyway. :)
You are using AT&T and it is VERY possible they have blacklisted anything that has the name guns in it. Possible...
How many hops did it make and can you snap a picture that shows the string to the end? Maybe a bit better quality?
-
Travis, you're definitely not alone with this issue and AT&T. In searching the web, I tripped across this thread....and a remedy.
"Re: Unable to connect to certain websites, but other sites connect perfectly.
Literally had the exact same thing happened to me. None of my business sites were connecting, but netflix and many others were fine, and I was getting the exact same error. It suddenly happened to me on Feb 4. (not sure if it was related to some kind of change on either side) But I spent many, many hours by myself and on the phone troubleshooting this issue, with many different people. A tech just left 5 mins ago and he was able to fix the issue and I wanted to share it with anyone else that has experienced this frustrating anomaly. If this happens to you, save some time and let your rep know:
1. Resetting the modem will not work
2. Receiving a new modem will not work.
3. Changing DNS and Proxy settings will not work.
4. The issue is not with the host servers of these websites (well not completely)
What worked for me was having a tech come out and switch over my port. After he switched the port, he had to call ATT IT to have them assign me a range of new dynamic ip's and VOILA, it worked!!! I don't know if there's something about ATT's protocols that causes it's users to get blacklisted, but if this fix works for you it means your ip address has been flagged and blacklisted for certain sites. Who knows why, but it's definitely on ATT to fix, so don't let them give you the run around.
I hope this helps and good luck!"
I'd give their tech support in camel land a call. Oh, that's right, it's AT&T. AMERICAN Telephone and Telegraph. HaaHaa

Just for shoots and giggles, try flushing your DNS cache.
1.Open “CMD” and run as administrator to launch command line and type the following:
2.ipconfig /flushdns
3.C:\> ipconfig /flushdns
You should see:
Windows IP Configuration
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
C:\>

Done that a dozen times. Calling my provider I’m out of things to try

Dave
do you have the ability to see his ip ?
if so you can check it on several ip spammer sites
i use 4 different sites to check questionable ips on my forum
Travis if you want me to check yours ?
PM me your ip
Dick

I can, but he is only able to log on using his cell service. I looked back at his profile and checked the MANY addresses and most are cell connections, his old ISP before moving and the shop one. None of those help. Only thing I can suggest is get AT&T to assign a new set of static IP addresses or use your cell as a hotspot for a laptop or wireless desktop.

or use a vpn to bypass the local ISP and utilize a different origin. Not trivial tho.
-
That might work but I think he has other issues. He's at the office of his ISP right now checking on things. I have looked back at his last IP address he had when he logged onto GTA from a home computer. I did a trace route and it dies somewhere out west. I have given him the info of the IP address and name where the signal dies. Maybe they can figure it out from that.
-
And at their office they can access GTA.
-
Got a VPN to work on phone but not PC so far. Thx Dave
-
Test VPN home pc
-
Travis, if you find a free VPN that works on a laptop please hook me up. They have a watch dog (baracuda) on our network at work and it block many websites. I get around it with a VPN on my cell with Star VPN but I'm not savvy enough with the laptop.
-
I paid threw advast
-
I truly believe comifonia has hands in this mess.

I'll check it out Dave.. It's actually my personal laptop that I take to work with me and connect to their wireless network. My work PC is hardwired. Amazingly I can access GTA with the desktop but many pics and websites are blocked.... you tube, for example.
Thanks

I think the work around for the haters of guns of the world is the way to go. I guess Ive grown to the point Im on some Radars out there.
