Yesterday I installed the SS valve in my Mrod for the first time, all went well, it sealed good but the MDS hammer wasn't heavy enough so I took it out and put the stock hammer in along with the stock spring with the TSS backed way out. The first shot was about 42 fpe range so I tried a couple more shots and it started leaking past the poppet. I took the valve back out, disassembled it and wiped everthing down good and tried it again, still leaking so I disassembled it and cleaned everything with an ultrasonic and blew it off with air. Nothing appears to be broken and the o rings all look good yet. I'm a little reluctant to even put it back in my gun right now because with the stock valve back in it I'm getting up to 52 fpe after a chrono test earlier.
I didn't use 2 springs in the TSS either just the stock one and the poppet appears to be fine as well as the orings. ???
Do I dare try it again or should I give up on it ? I have no idea why there are even threads on the brass because there's nothing for it to thread into. I did buy it through ebay at a discount, maybe it's a reworked valve I really don't know.

All the ""SS" valves i have been into has the brass THREADED into the body. ( Tho this could be an early prototype )
The spring shown on the stem should also be within the brass parts cavity and resting on the small shoulder of poppet head ( NOT on the stem as shown )

Scott I put the spring there just for the photo, I did reassemble it dry this time but haven't tried it, should I lube with silicone oil first ? I think grease would be too much.

There was quite a bit of debris in it which probably is the cause of the leak past the poppet.

Wayne,
You want a heavy film lube on the o-rings ( Krytox or ultimox grease works great ! ) Silacone is a poor lube for dynamic use. Also the "Fit tolerance" of the o-rings has been of some issue and travis has played with o-ring sizing some to deal with it.
* sadly if the smaller o-ring leaks at all, air will head out the barrel as it bypasses containment via the balance hole threw the valve stem.

The one in my Prod works sooo good too ???

I would get our reseal kit with upgraded seals and burnish the poppet and reinstall or send it to JSAR and we can do it and pressure test it. Wayne why didn’t you just call the tech support line that’s why it’s there we don’t care where you bought it from we’re happy to assist.
