I was certainly having a problem with sub 4 inch groups out of my bulldog at 50 yards with both JSB and the Benjamin Nosler bullets and started to wonder what, if anything would shoot accurately out of it. After several posts on Facebook pages I was given an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. Richard Krebs from Hikalbigbore.com told me that he had some bullets that he believed would perform well in the bulldog but they had yet to be tried. He stated that he would send me 25 each of 4 different bullets he was casting if I simply paid shipping and sent him photos of the results on some shoot n c targets at 30 and 50 yards. I took him up on the deal with the attitude of worth a shot. The next morning he shipped the bullets and they arrived the following morning along with a few targets.
I’ll be honest and say that I wasn’t expecting what was delivered. As he stated there were two boxes of 50 rounds each consisting of 25 rounds of 4 sizes all perfectly shrink wrapped in a tray that held each round separated and secured. At first I was thinking, okay, it’s just for looks. I went through and randomly grabbed 5 of each type and measured them each with my digital calipers and looked for flaws. Well there were none and each measured exactly at .358, just as I had requested.
I moved the first target to 30 yards and things became crystal clear as to how good they really were. All four weights grouped within an inch. This was previously unachievable. Next I went to 59 yards and the three lower weights did “okay” but wasn’t what I was looking for at least not with an unseasoned barrel. I then loaded the 150gr Anvils and the first two were virtually right on top of each other! I made the mistake of changing my point of aim on the third shot but held that same spot for the next two and all three were overlapping each other.
I have no doubt that the attention to detail put into these bullets definitely led to better performance at the same cost of most other places that cast their own. The difference is definitely worth giving them a shot.
I have since had better luck with the other three sizes and believe it is due to the barrel slowly seasoning. Regardless, I have found my source for big bore ammunition from here on out.
Happy Shooting

I am on my second Bulldog in two months. The first one shot poorly and I returned it. The most accurate pellets I have tried are the Polymag 81 gr pellets. One ragged hole at 50 yds.
Yet other slugs exhibit larger groups. The 127 grain Hunter's Supply SWC seem to work well out to 75 yards. The Nosler Ballistic tips shoot well, but very expensive. I am waiting to try 150 gr hollow base wadcutters, as well as the Hikalbigbore 150 gr "anvils".
If anyone has a way to "power tune" this rifle I would love to know how to do it.
