Title: looking for file to print LDC baffles
Post by: superchikn on June 19, 2018, 01:38:50 PM
While I do not have my own printer I have had many Nerf parts printed through 3DHUBs which I highly recommend by the way.

I would like to make some LDCs but cannot find any files for the baffles.  Can anyone help?

Thanks

I'm not sure exactly what type you are looking for, but Thingiverse does have a number of them if you simply search for "baffles".  This one for example:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2118011 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2118011)

Custom ones would not be hard to design using the simple TinkerCAD app or any other CAD program.

I like the models on grabCAD.com. Thingiverse always has stl files but rarely has the CAD models in native format. GrabCAD almost always includes the native CAD files in case you want to tweak them.

Search "silencer" on grabCAD and you will pull up over 100 hits. All different kinds of moderators for all kinds of guns.

As an alternative to making your own baffle, Crosman has the Trail NP
baffle that works very well. Has a 1/2" x 20 thread.
Cost $1.96 direct from Crosman. P/N NP214-001.

$1.96?!? I'm going to try this route for sure. That's a great idea. What is the OD and length of this baffle, do you happen to know? Thanks!

Total length is 5 9/16".
Minor diameter is .895".
Major diameter is 1".

For the tube you can use 1" aluminum tube as I did above.
A 4' section cost $21 at my local ACE.
You can also use 25mm carbon fiber tube.

Go large or go home:

Made this adapter from brass.

Shipping was the standard $4 for 6 of these of earlier this month.

Can't beat that deal with a stick.

Thanks, saved me from doing something much more complicated.

With a minor and major diameter, these are not round ?

They are round but  the baffle has a lip on one end hence the two diameters.
