Title: Ole Beeman .22 springer?
Post by: Fly on June 12, 2018, 11:50:04 PM
I went digging threw some of my ole gun stuff & found a .22 Beeman springer I bought from Wal-Mart around 1999 or 2000. It has a wood
stock & a Beeman scope. It still shoots good. Would any of you know the model & about what fpm it would shoot a 14 grain Crossman pellet?

Got a photo you can post?
That would help tremendously.

well it looks like this one but it has a fixed .22 barrel, but they look identical including scope.

I can't help you with the model but you can get a free copy of Chairgun Pro from the Hawke website.  Set two targets at different distances.  Measure the drop between the two and if you know the distances you can use the program to extrapolate the approximate velocity.
A new spring and a properly fitted seal could bring the velocity up a bit if you feel it's not adequate but lacking a chronograph Chairgun is probably the best way to get a decent idea of your velocity.

I'm going to guess it's one from the "Sportsman's Series".

(I have one of the RAM models) that has the fixed .22 barrel.
IIRC, with a CPHP 14.3 gr pellet it does about 700-720 fps.

If it's a fixed barrel it should be an underlever or side-lever.  Which one is it?  Please post a pic if you can.  The muzzle velocity depends on the condition of the seal and the spring, and only a chronograph can accurately tell you what shape they are in.

No it is a brake barrel. I,m guessing it is what Gertrude said a early sportsman model. I does not have the power of the
swarm I now have & it,s cocking take less then the Gamo Swarm. So I would think maybe that's it.
