Hey there so I have this 13XX stock adapter for tipman 98 stocks that I bought from Mellon air. It fits a little loose and wobbles side to side even with both screws tightened all the way. Any suggestions to fix the looseness?? Would post a pic but it keeps telling me my file size is too large...

Go to http://tinypic.com/ (http://tinypic.com/) and load the photo. Come back here with the URL it is assigned and paste it between the Insert Image brackets.

Couple of thoughts: Contact C. Mellon and ask if adapt. can be replaced. Problem could be Adapt. or your tube.
And/or try shimming the sides with pieces of a cut up pop/beer can. You can cut them with regular scissors.

Electrical tape can make a good shim as well, if needs to be thinner the aluminum can is a good route to go.

Thanks for the tip. Here's the image of the part.

I would contact him but the part took over a month to get and just guessing getting a replacement will take forever.

Will try the pop can shim for sure. Forgot about that technique i once used it to shim the barrel on my Discovery.

no matter who makes the tippmann adapter they all do this
the cure is to drill and tap the tube and adapter 90* to the normal fixings

I am mechanically challenged, so doing this is akin to brain surgery to me lol. (Why did I choose this hobby? I have no idea!) So, how does one drill a straight hole on a curved tube and adapter? I also have never tapped a hole, nor do I have a tap and die set. Sounds like I need to pay someone to do this if I want it done right. :-\

yes drill and tap them in situ
I would recommend a set of v blocks and a drill press drilling the holes 90* to std and using 8-32 grub screws or if feeling confident use csk 6-32's

yes, get somone else to do it.. 8-32 taps snap like twigs in the wrong hands.

Get one made from stainless steel. I've spent 140 bucks on alumnium adapters all worked loose all ended up stripping out the threads.
