Title: Foregrip for an 18" 2400KT
Post by: cobalt327 on May 30, 2018, 10:01:49 PM
I wanted some sort of fore grip for my 2400KT. First thing I tried was a straight up and down grip- didn’t feel very good and looked like a hot mess but it was better than nothing. So digging deeper into the spares/cast-offs box, I came up with one of those cheap slanted “tactical” grip deals (cannot for the life of me recall where it came from but it had to have been an AR15 trade of some sort). I used a dovetail to Weaver rail adapter piece and an intermount. I don’t much care for the look, but I do have to say it’s a lot better to shoot now that I have a grip. The grip is short, but by putting my index finger all the way forward, there’s room for the rest of my fingers on the back part. Call it a proof of concept I suppose. ;)

I came across a better way to mount it that won’t require me to move it to change a cartridge but I didn’t find the part until I had already put in my last Crosman order, so it’ll go into the next one. It’s a dovetail that’s used on the Charger to mount a front globe sight. After boring the ID to 7/16”, I’ll turn it upside down so the DT is on the bottom, then I can use the DT to Weaver adapter to attach the grip to the Challenger part. This will also close the gap between the top of the grip and the bottom of the barrel instead of hanging down below the barrel, so it should look a little better.

First photo is the vertical grip. Then the way it is now. On the bottom is the Challenger DT.

some kind of extension off the factory foregrip would eliminate the need to rest on the barrel , it would have the same effect
