I must ask you guys before I go get buried in the ground. Could you tell me why modern PCPs lost their ability of replacing their reservoirs, like that of the vintage airguns(for example, girandoni or ball reservoir) are capable of? Is there any special reason behind it that I’m missing? Or is it simply because carrying a scuba tank around with them, and refilling them when they’re empty became a custom to airgunners, so that it is no longer a necessity to carry extra detachable pre-filled reservoirs?

They still make reservoirs you can switch out for airgun. Here are just a few examples:

My fx crown has a removable bottle so I can carry an extra one.
Like yourself I dont understand why more guns don't come with removable ones so you can carry extras in the field.
I know a lot of people just carry a small carbon buddy bottle to fill from in the field. And I guess that works too. One of the reasons I got the FX Crown was cause of the high shot count in .25 you get 80 to 95 shots per fill and then I got an extra bottle so with a mix of high power and low power shotrs I'll get over 200 shots I figure that should be enough for most days of hunting ;)

I pack 3 air force bottles with my escape UL, one is set up with a hose so it can charge any other gun, or be tethered to an air force gun for extended shot count.

Most designs will lose a significant portion of the charge via filling the plenum when changing tubes/bottles.
I used to change bottles on my qb's, but eventually learned it was more effective to invest in charging equipment vs extra bottles. At one time i had 8 13ci botttles. I lost at minimum 500psi charging the plenum on my qb78's. I can be pretty hard headed but eventually i bought larger tanks and refilled bottles attached to the gun.

Proliferation of the small carbon "buddy" bottles probably has something to do with it. That said, I have an extra cylinder for my AA S200, & like having the ability to swap it out. Undecided about getting one for the FX Impact X I have on order. An extra bottle would be nice, but the price is pushing into buddy bottle territory.

I know a lot of shooters don't like Hatsan but one of the perks to my Galatian III QE is the detachable air cylinder. Just unscrew one the one on it, screw in the spare I have and I have another 25-30 shots and I figure 50 should be more than plenty if I want to hit the field for a day since hunting is all I use the rifle for.

I think most if not all FX guns with a bottle they are swappable under pressure. I have the original alum bottle that my Royale came with and bought a CF bottle. You only lose a few BAR putting the second bottle on.
Plenum stays more or less filled in the process.

dang how couldn't I know them.. not just one or two but plenty. I thought they're virtually dead. thank ya all for the replies. :D
