Title: Chinese pump o’rings
Post by: ranchibi on April 30, 2018, 08:45:00 PM
Question for anyone who knows where or sizes of replacement o’rings for Chinese 4500psi hand pumps as I have one back up pump for my Hill. I’ve found kits for other pumps such as Hill or Taousa...thank you in advance. Any help will be appreciated!

Is it a copy of the Air Venturi G6 pump by chance?  If so I believe if you contact Mike at FDAR he has kits for his pump (which is a copy of the G6).  At least he did last year when I got a couple from him...

My chinese ebay pump came with a replacement kit. If you don't find a suitable kit, I can try to measure the o-rings in my kit.

Marco, mine came with an extra kit too! It’s just that both me and two friends have these pumps, one has already gone through his extra ones (maybe pumping too fast...heat) so we are looking for replacement ones. If you could measure them I’d appreciate it as my digital calipers are not working! Thank you!

Are you saying, your caliper is out of order, or you can't seem to get the caliper to properly get measurements?

Have you tried just bringing the Oring(s) to a hardware store and just visually matching it?

I've got the TAOUSA which was one of the first clones of the G6 and I can't recall if I got spare orings with it but the pump has been just trouble free from the time that I bought it.  I did get silicone oil with it and every once in a great while it'll feel a little on the dry side and I'll put oil on the inner and outer tubes and it smooths right out like it should be.  I have filled to 250bar with it quite a bit also, I didn't have air all winter so I had to use my hand pump.

Dinh, battery died (now out of town on business)...friend tried the hardware store match to no avail, it’s his that has bad o’rings..but, we are both trying to get replacement o’rings (just in case for me even with spare rebuild kit), maybe The O’ring Store once we get measurements. Thank you.

Wayne, thank you for that info and reminder to re-oil tubes/rings! I just Googled the Taousa and it looks EXACTLY the same and Amazon does carry a rebuild o’ring kit for it. I feel you on pumping as I haven’t gotten around to getting a tank and compressor....yet! Soon, real soon :). I mainly use my Hill MKIV but, this Chinese pump works just as well! Thanks again!

Thank you ALL for your help! FYI the large thin o’ring the one most likely to go bad is 25mm diameter x 1mm thick...hopefully measured correctly by my friend, USC grad so fingers crossed! LOL! Wayne, I ordered the TAOUSA rebuild o’ring kit :), thanks!
