Pretty sure we're not supposed to talk about them on this forum, but I do think this would technically be legal.
As long as it can't go on a firearm or you don't have one around that an ATF agent might decide it could easily be attached to then you should be fine.
-
I think the rules have somewhat changed... we can discus them but we can't talk about how to make them.

Mac1 sells something similar, may require relocating the front site, uses epoxy to attach, iirc.
I notice that the Mac1 ‘gate’ is no longer available. Do you know what happened?
That auction is interesting, several bids already with another 8 days left. I’ll have to watch it and see how wild the bidding gets.

I am fairly new to this forum, but I am not sure what would make this illegal. Its on a air gun! I assumed that it's pretty well understood that air gun silencers are way different than the ones regulated for powder burners. Also all these company's must have checked with ATF before putting them on airguns and mass making them. My couple of AG's that I have would not do anything on a powder burner, and would only last up until the first shot, and be destroyed.

Their website says 'The term “Firearm Silencer” or “Firearm Muffler” means any device for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm, including any combination of parts, designed or redesigned, and intended for the use in assembling or fabricating a firearm silencer or firearm muffler, any part intended only for use in such assembly or fabrication.'
It's a pretty vague definition imo, as a potato with holes in it can be used to muffle the sound of a firearm, too. However, I doubt that the ATF will come kick down your door just because you bought a LDC on an eBay listing saying it's for an airgun. I don't study laws, so please don't take my words seriously.
-
The LDC's used on airguns wouldn't be safe on a powder burner, too much pressure. Heck it wasn't long ago I blew mine right off the end of my Prod after I did some modifications on the internals for more power. I ended up buying one from Rocker1 and it's a lot better than the one that I had and just as quiet if not quieter.

I am a Class III NFA dealer and have been for years. Had a stick and mortar gun shop for years. I have dealt with the ATF and even took them to court once, which the Gov't found in their own favor. (shocking, right?)
This is not to imply that my opinion is more correct or less correct than anyone else's, just to say, I've been around this stuff for a long time.
There are at my latest research on the subject, two very specific cases relating to airgun moderators. First one didn't work out for the airgunner, and he was branded a felon and lost his firearms rights permanently IIRC.
The Second more recent one was a guy who was ALREADY a felon and had only airguns and a moderator on it. The judge in that case determined that it had to do with intent....he was following the laws that said he couldn't have a firearm. The moderator was then no issue to the judge.
So one case went against and one went for....as far as Moderators on airguns go, it is a &^^& shoot and if you get in trouble with the law it will be up to you and your lawyer to get the win.
Having said that, there are a PLETHORA of gun laws the ATF does not and CAN NOT enforce. Section "O" of the Importation Restriction on weapons containing 11 U.S. Made parts for instance...if the Russkies stamp US in the plastic, how can they prove otherwise? Was that spring made in the US? An ATF agent told me once at a conference for dealers that those are "tack on" laws....you rob a bank and use a gun that only had 10 US made parts...bingo another 10 years added to your sentence, But to just blindly go after John Q Public for possessing something? They don't have the time, the inclination or most importantly the funding to do anything of the sort.
Your mileage may vary, but lots of my firearms have Silencers/Suppressors and most of my Airguns do (all my PCP do and always will) As for the Benjamin in the ad, I wouldn't go for that one personally, just because the gun didn't come that way. But thats me.

I know that I'm really thankful for a law we recently got changed here in Michigan https://www.nraila.org/articles/20150512/michigan-air-gun-reclassification-package-signed-into-law (https://www.nraila.org/articles/20150512/michigan-air-gun-reclassification-package-signed-into-law)

Pretty sure if it can be taken off and put on a firearm even for one shot it can be a violation. That’s why all the new moderated air rifles have it enclosed as part of the barrel? One of my favorite old Hy-score pistols was remade in England with a removeable moderator, it can’t be sold in this country? Have seen them for sale with that removed.

I went to the DonnyFL site, to see what it said. He put the court case link on his page for all to read that was talked about above. I read the whole thing and all though they lost, it pretty much comes down to this. If they want you, they gonna get you, and tack on everything they can. So be a small fish!
here's Donny's site if wanting to see the case.

I find it weird that you lads have no power limits but fitting an ldc is a grey area but we in the UK have very strict power levels but are allowed to make our own ldc's and no restrictions on under the limit airguns
the one in the pic looks to be the same as mine
