Title: Webley rifle morphing help needed.
Post by: Cliff H on April 18, 2018, 01:06:57 AM

So guys i just aquired a Webley .20 Valuemax off of ebay the other day.  Not entirely enthusiastic about the super stiff trigger and crappy thin hollow green stock neither.  Heres my idea or question.  Would a .20 barrel and block fit to a Webley blackhawk powerplant and all of that fit in a Webley Spector tactical stock.
What im after is the .20 with the quatro trigger in the pistol grip stock that looks remotely like the Crosman Fury ll blackout stock.  I have a Fury ll blackout and i love the feel of that stock.  Im just now kinda getting into these Webley/Hatsan rifles so im not very educated on the compatibility yet.  I will be searching the forums for any old post regarding anything similar but i never seem to find anything so im posting the question first before i search and read off subject for the thousanth time.

What i mean about reading off subject is like when you search youtube for how to fix your washer or dryer then next thing you know your watching a video of shaved kittens skydiving into a pool of jello! So easy to get off subject.  Then i forget what i was even looking up in the first place.

I think the Spector is the same gun as a VMX and same trigger. Stock screw go in at an upward angle. Like the Striker/Edge.
The Webley Black Hawk I believe is the same gun as a Hatsan 95 and my Webly Tomahawk. Stock screws go straight in 90degrees to the gun.
The barrel block on my 135 is longer than the VMX/Striker. Same length as on my Tommy.

I'm trying to order wood Striker stocks for my VMX and Striker. Both their plastic stocks broke at the side screw holes. The problem is the VMX has a two piece cocking lever and the striker is one piece so the slots in the bottom of the stocks are different. I'm wondering if a metal pin thru the bottom of the stock will work with the VMX in a Striker stock.

There's a longer trigger screw mod for the VMX/Striker. Got it in my VMX and it helps a lot but not like target grade. You can find the mod in the Turkish Gate. It was all the rage about a year ago.

SteveP-52  can tell you.. what stocks fit what.. on those Webley 20Cal.'s   He has 3 or 4 and has done some switching around with stocks. He also has a good FIX for the screw problem on striker plastic stocks.              Best Wishes - Tom

I put a wood Hatsan Striker stock on my VMX that I bought several years ago. The old one broke at the screw, too. Striker stock fit perfectly, then.

I'd have to take mine apart to say for absolute sure, but the complete VMX action should drop right into a Spector stock if you can get your hands on one.

Whether you could mount just the barrel/block assembly on the Blackhawk, I honestly don't know but from the few pictures I've seen of it, you might be able to as long as it doesn't have the SAS recoil system on it.

Here's a link to one thread on modifying that trigger. The longer screw, lighter or bent spring and some polishing of the sears and it turns into a pretty good trigger. It's no Quattro after all that but still makes a much better, smoother trigger for .25 cents and a little time on your part.

You can also fill the Spector stock and grip (I did on mine) to reduce the hollow sound and echo. Here's how i do mine but there's any number of ways from plumber's putty to ziploc bags filled with rice or kitty litter to just cramming old shop rags or an old t-shirt in there.
